Holidays

Anyone got recommendations for somewhere warm that's not too far flung over the christmas period? Got an ambition to get away this Christmas but also limited on funds which means I can't escape too far sadly!

Canaries any good that time of year?
I would suggest a turkey or a chicken for Christmas.

World is full of pillocks who love being a slave. I get it if people work for themselves or their own business but that lunch is for wimps mentality is bollocks.

That's another one I see a lot of. Employees working through their entitled breaks then snacking on shite throughout the day. Blokes in their 30s who've just given up with bellies hanging off the front of them, one way ticket to oblivion.

Anyone here been to Iceland? How did you experience it? I've always wanted to drive round the whole circular route and stop off at various places. Anyone done that sort of thing? Or even just holidayed in Iceland?
Went two years back for a week in August and loved it, hired a car and got to see a fair bit. It's deceptively big though for driving so best plan your priorities on the to see list in case you need multiple holidays. I just stayed in a hotel near Rekyavik for my base. Astonishing change of landscape wherever you go and really worth it if you're into goelogical/thermal stuff and water falls etc. Rekyavik is nothing to write home about but has a few bars and stuff. Whale watching was good and quad bikes near the glaciers was a great laugh.

It's expensive though for food and drink.

Weather holds pretty well in Canaries at Christmas, but it tends to be pretty expensive to go there at that time.
I did Xmas in Lanzarote in 2019 and had glorious sunshine the 4 days I was there.
Did Xmas in Madeira in 2020 and that was a very mixed bag, weather wise.

Other places would be Morocco, Egypt, Cyprus (though a gamble on weather there).

Failing that, you're then looking further afield at places like Dubai/Caribbean, and that's when the zero's on the prices really start adding up.

Those who have been to Dubai, is it possible on a budget?

I heard it's full of the TOWIE lot and other z list influencers, so ideally want to avoid that kind of crowd, without paying through the nose for digs or meals.

Hoping to get out there next year with a mate. Any recommendations welcome, I'm totally ignorant regarding travel to the middle east. Thanks.
