Holidays

We fly home tonight. Much better day weather wise today although still breezy . Currently sat by the infinity pool on the rooftop of the best hotel in Almyrida with incredible views (Almyrida Residence). Still red flag beach and rough sea so no water sports or boat trips those businesses have lost a fortune this last week .
GLORIOUS day today (Tues) and the next week is supposed to be just as nice, if not better!

Heading to the pink sand beach on the west coast tomorrow. 2 hr drive, stopping for lunch on the way there, dinner on the way home!

We are closely monitoring the path and potential impact of Super Typhoon Saola as it approaches Hong Kong in the coming days. Based on the current forecast, the typhoon is likely to make landfall close to Hong Kong at some time on Friday night.

Looks like theres another one coming !
Oh ffs

Anyone been to Khao Lak thailand
Yep-many times. We like it as it's much more laid back than Phuket. WE tend to spend a week or so in the national park in north Phuket, then drive an hour to KL. KL is around 20 miles long with 2 main town areas. There are lots of nice beaches, some quite remote and quiet. Mainly Scandinavians, a smattering of Brits, but not many Russians so far.

Thanks mate
Having 2 weeks there then 2 weeks in Phuket

Bars for the West Ham game in Pineda de Mar (Tarragona) please Blues .. Just got here and planning ahead :-)
Pineda de Mar definitely ain't Tarragona!

But I think the Buccaneer Pub shows the games and you might be able to see it in the hotel.

It's ok...
Pullman khao lak
Mercure grande khao lak
Sunwing .. Kamala Phuket
Ok. The first 2 are a bit remote. The Pullman is close to the fishing village that was devastated by the Tsunami. There are a few restaurants around but nothing compared to the options a few miles south. They are well located for an easy trip on the small boat to Kho Ko Khao though, and that's a good day out. It's also easy to get into Takua Pa for the markets and old town.

Kamala is a lovely resort and you can't go wrong at the Sunwing.

Been to Kamala 4 out of last 5 trips.
Usually stay at Novotel there but it went from 75 a night to to 200

Posher until you get to Sidari....

A Wiganer I work with just went here for 2 weeks. With his wife and his wife's cousin's best friend's brother-in-law and wife or something similar. Fuck knows, didn't like to ask, all too Wigan-ish for me.

I have not been to Sidari but I dread to think what it's like if he's a regular visitor.

Me and Mrs went to Sidari in Corfu in July and as it was our first time there we didn’t know what to expect, and to be honest it was a lot better than we thought it might be,but helped by staying in arguably the best hotel, well from the others we saw anyway, and we back next year it was that good.
