Holidays

Depending on when you're making the trip, consider a NLL (National Lacrosse League) game. It's fast and physical and makes football players look like pussies!

The North West is the heartland of Lacrosse over here, albeit focused on amateur field lacrosse rather than pro box lacrosse. A great sport in all formats.

Thanks, we’re travelling mid-May. If I was to drive, I’d be worried all the time and it wouldn’t be a holiday.

CN Tower is on the list and a trip up at night is a definite possibility.

I don’t think most of the family will want to go in a boat upto the base of Niagara Falls. I think we’ll be happy to walk alongside the river and admire the falls from various angles. We’ll have a look at other options before we go.

Really looking forward to seeing g the historic building and places, especially in Quebec City.
Hello mate , I drove from Toronto to the falls . Other than trying to find the drop off for my rental at the end of the night it was a really stress free drive .
Had the advantage of seeing the falls at day and night .
If I went back I would drop a Toronto night and stay overnight at the falls .
Niagara on the lake as stated is beautiful

I'm sure most of the drive would be fine but I can't be bothered with all the hassle of a car and the "what-ifs"

I have only driven abroad once in Florida, 30 years ago. That was enough :)

I'm back now. Been gone for ages and not one mention on the Missing Mooners thread. Proper clicky this place !

Anyway my passport expires end of this year and as you cant use it for the last 6 months that'll be the abroad crack done and dusted for now. A mystery why it's called a 10 year passport.

Cleethorpes for the next few years as we've just invested heavily into some local real estate. Our elderly wobbles through the Tetney Marshes are nothing short of the splendid and planning on upgrading my binoculars to some Celstron Natures, the ones with the ED lens thingies. That is all.

Try going away again, this time for a bit longer, that might do the trick.

;-)

Flew back from Gran Canaria Monday night, definitely a few degrees down on the previous few January's we've been, especially at night with the cool breeze, but saw the Northern Lights as the captain came on and told us when around 20 mins from landing, amazing really to see from up there.

Oh and fell out with a few Norwegian rags whilst there, par for course

This has to be better than a hotel room.

Got a right nice homely feel to it.

Difficult to find something more upmarket when you've been spoiled to death with Benidorm. We'll miss the place, but this is home for now. Heidi Hi ... Heidi Ho

Both places are so so dreamy: But you decide.

The Dorm in all of it's respendant glory. The Good Lord hit all the right notes with this one!

Currently sat in zumis sports bar, playa fuengirola. The owner has 4 tellys showing 4 different games, been chatting to him, he's quite a character. He does estrella at €3 a pint during happy hour, which is a bit of a bargain considering ive paid €7 for a Guinness earlier. One things for sure, dry January has left the building for the foreseeable.

Off to vietnam next week, for 6 weeks. Mainly Da Nang and Hoi An. Found a few bars which show premier league. Not going to spend another winter in the Uk!!!

Ok Just got back.
Loved the place,we were only there 3 nights so we had a full itinerary in the days.
The arrival was a pain as it was so windy they couldn't open the a/c door (remote parking),2 hours later they finally towed us to the terminal...it took 4 hrs form parking to reaching hotel .so 1 day bit wasted
Next day we did the circle of fire tour ,well worth it for the Geyser and waterfalls and you visit the national park, Lunch was included and was lamb soup ,which was probably the best meal we had in Iceland.Long day with lots of driving around tho .
Evening at 9 pm they picked us up and drove us out of the city ,so we could see the Northern lights. Very lucky as they were spectacular that night.
Day 2 we did the lava show in the morn .ok ish but not at the top of my list, then Whale watching in the afternoon, managed to see 2 Humpback Whales, well worth doing if you like that kind of thing.
Evening we went to the Sky Lagoon, have to say sat outside in the warm pool whilst the Northern lights did there thing above was absolutely amazing and the highlight of the trip .
Minus point is its sooooo expensive, 15 quid a pint ... most bars have happy hours from 16.00 to 19.00 so that brings down to around £7 so still not great. We stocked up at man airport and was busy for most nights so didnt really affect us but if your there for a while could get costly.
Food also expensive, the soup place was about £50 for 2 soups and 2 cokes and it was really the same everywhere you went ... the cheaper eateries, take outs as well , were all about £20 for whatever you ordered and you could double that for proper restaurants .
Thanks so much mate. Really appreciate the reply and will let you know how we get on.

Going to Hong Kong (my niece lives there) for 5 days; never been before.
Then flying to Singapore where my other niece lives for 8 nights!
Never been there either.

I'm already feeling anxious and it's 2 months away!
