Holidays

Off to Bangkok on Thursday, flights depending, for 6 nights to meet up with family who are touring S.E Asia.
We are going to have roughly 5-6 nights left. Any recommendations on where to go for the extra nights.
Been to Bangkok a few times already, also Koh Samui , Phuket and Chang Mai and dont fancy Pattaya.
I know theres loads of places but with limited time to travel, need direct flights from BKK really.

If you are going to be staying in Thailand, then Krabi is nice. Easy to get flights between there and BKK too.

We stayed at Anana Ecological Resort, which was spot on.

Lots of places not taking cash these days but it remains legal tender. Funny how they take cash in their high street shops.

Go to Krabi, in my (possibly biased) opinion it’s the most beautiful part of Thailand.

We have just had 4 nights in Chiang Rai-much preferred it to Mai. The white temple is impressive as was a boat trip on the Mekong. Or fly to Phuket and head north off the island. Plenty of relatively quiet places within an hour's drive of the airport.

Thanks to everyone who replied ,
Has Thailand ,outside of Bangkok, accommodation became expensive recently ?
That hotel is quoting £453 per night ! and the rest around Krabbi dont seem value for money .
Thinking maybe quick flight to Nha Trang where the Intercontinental is £80 per night or might just stop off in Dubai on the way back.

That hotel was quite expensive. There’s a place called Vipa Tropical Resort which is good and loads cheaper, but it’s often booked up.

Going to Hong Kong (my niece lives there) for 5 days; never been before.
Then flying to Singapore where my other niece lives for 8 nights!
Never been there either.

I'm already feeling anxious and it's 2 months away!
Singapore for 8 nights! If you’re staying with your niece it won’t be too bad but it’s an expensive place and if you like a beer it’s around £12 a pint on Clarkes Quay during the happy hour. The Quay is near China Town so it’s bit better value there, the Hawker markets are good value as well.

Hong Kong ain’t cheap in some places but stick to the markets and street food to get some value for money. If you’re there on a Wednesday Happy Valley Races is a good night out, (only seen on TV) usually have a band/singers on and a really friendly atmosphere, about 2 quid to get in, I missed out on that as we left on a Tuesday.

Edit
Oh btw, have a great time, I’m sure you’ll love it as much as we did.

Just approaching half way through 6weeks in North Goa, I love this place and all it's madness, sat having a beer watching a bull bossing the road and going exactly where he wants despite so much traffic.
Probably go for a curry tonight but if I wanted I could have steak pie chips & peas, or liver & onions with mash.
We Brits are so well catered for, oh and it's 32° every day.

Just a few mate ! Love the DR.
We’re going twice this year both to Punta Cana/Bavaro : August with daughter and family (Majestic Mirage) and Anniversary trip November (Secrets Cap Cana). It ‘ll be a lot different than your last trip.
Really looking forward to it mate :), we’re going punta cana at the end of July, last time I went it was sosua

Disney HK awaits! That's where my niece works.
Basically I'll be told where I'm going but I've heard amazing things about both places.

Cheers for the heads up!
Happy Valley Races sounds a right good night. I'll be dragging my daughter's boyfriend off there then!
