Holidays

Disney HK awaits! That's where my niece works.
Basically I'll be told where I'm going but I've heard amazing things about both places.

Cheers for the heads up!
Happy Valley Races sounds a right good night. I'll be dragging my daughter's boyfriend off there then!
Also Sentosa Island but I’m sure your family will have that on your agenda.

Just approaching half way through 6weeks in North Goa, I love this place and all it's madness, sat having a beer watching a bull bossing the road and going exactly where he wants despite so much traffic.
Probably go for a curry tonight but if I wanted I could have steak pie chips & peas, or liver & onions with mash.
We Brits are so well catered for, oh and it's 32° every day.
"Brits catered for" is a reason NOT to go

I think we’re going to be lucky with the only two dry days of the week :)
Yes, certainly looks that way Rob. It's been pretty grim with high winds and heavy rain.
The front got pretty battered, with a lot of businesses having to close for repair.
It's picked up now though, today has been nice.
Enjoy

Yes, up to about a week ago we were considering paying for a flight change to push it back until later in the year because the weather was so bad but it’s been a bit of a shock today’s warm weather.

Hope you are enjoying your trip.

Yes I am Rob, thanks.
Although the weather has stopped me doing some stuff I'd planned, but that's the nature of off season travel I guess.
Safe trip fella.

We are in our 70s now and the hassle of airports and intercontinental train travel are becoming increasingly tedious. There is a lot to be said for a week self catering on the south coast. OK boring for some, but we do what we like.
Not boring at all.
Travel is what made us what we are. An inquisitive species.
Exploration is a wonderful thing.
Take some pics and share on here.
Safe travels

fair play, I guess Bournmouth is the place for you.

Take some nose plugs for Boulders beach, it’s great but does pong, don’t forget Dizzy’s in Camps Bay for further punishment watching us :-))))
@discopop.
Just did some research on Dizzys. We are literally across the road in Camps Bay Village Beach Studio’s.
Looked at the website and cracking prices on the food and drink.
Could be my local for two weeks.
Thank you so much.

It’s a big rugby union bar but always put the football on, just above it is a belting seafood restaurant called the codfather it’s a bit pricey but excellent maybe a blow the budget meal. Cafe Mantra was best for breakfast for us. I’d look to book Kloof Street House restaurant it’s about £3 in an Uber (Uber is a must have) from CB it’s absolutely belting scoff and there’s a good bar across the street for a swift half before din dins.

Oh and make sure you do the open top bus tour, you can jump on and off whenever and it picks up and drops off directly across the road from the bay hotel in camps bay.

Oh and don’t forget Camps Bay is a dry town so you can’t get grog in the supermarket so I recommend when you you drop into the V&A there’s a huge Pick N Pay store under the mall shops get your drinks from there and Uber it back to Camps Bay,

Mighty jealous of your trip matey.

I had looked at the Codfather but didn’t realise it was the same building.
Thanks for all the tips on dining too.
I’m quite at home with Rugby Union but it’s the rest weekend in the six nations.
Omg Mrs PJ will be upset about the grog so I’ll follow your advice.
Nice one :-)

Fair comment but plenty come here for 4mths, so a taster of home is a welcome break.
Personally I love the Goan food and could happily have it every day, although I did have cheese & onion pie, chips, mushy peas & gravy the other night, top notch it was too.

Sounds like the perfect vacation for me as well. Planning trips around holidays can be stressful, but discussing it in a forum helps a lot. Members often share hidden tips for bookings, upgrades, and schedules. Knowing the Austrian Airlines phone number came in handy when I had questions about my reservations. Sharing advice and travel hacks with others is one of the best parts of these threads. You pick up details you wouldn’t find anywhere else.

Just back from Bangkok and Hong Kong
Bad planning made us have 2 weekends with a dry day ,no alcohol served from 6pm fri to 6pm sat.
Caught a lot of people out ..and Bangkok immigration wow! , never seen queues like it although to be fair they did move fairly quickly.
The digital arrivals card almost caught me out as we went last year and it wasn't required.
Note to self, always check current rules before departure.

Going to Benidorm for a mates 60th next month with 15 others....never been & dont drink so I'll be having a quiet one where possible. Hoping the sea will be warm enough to swim & laze on the beach all day with a few good books. Probably spend the evenings making sure my mates get back to their 5 star digs alright which will suit me just fine...before heading back to my 8 x 6 foot pension. £250 all in not too shabby for some winter sunshiiiiine. Why are there no City games from 22nd March till 11th April? I presume that will change when the champs league kicks back in.
