Yes I'm going in June.Tenerife a fortnight today.
It’s not the flights I’m bothered about it’s this bloody entry system.

That's an insult to Blackpool, Niagara falls is the most tacky place on Earth!!Been to the Canadian side of Niagra Falls, it’s Blackpool with a big waterfall, stopped at Niagra on the Lake on the way, that’s a beautiful place and well worth a visit for a few hours. Also visited a nearby Vinyard where they make Ice Wine, well worth a visit.
Bratislava is nice enough but it's a level or two below Vienna and Prague IMHO.Quick question for you former Vienna visitors and all-round helpful types.
We'll be in Vienna for four nights, so should we take a trip to Bratislava? We like just general sightseeing, architecture, parks, art galleries, and just wandering around (both in our 60s).
If we went we'd go on the train. I see it only takes an hour and it does mean we get to tick off a city and country we've never been to. Having said that, if it's just "It's OK but stick with Vienna" we shall do so.
Avoid the City of Niagara Falls on the US side, terrible placeThat's an insult to Blackpool, Niagara falls is the most tacky place on Earth!!
'On the Lake' you're right, it's great.
The falls are amazing for 10mins (max)...then it's "where are we going next".
In my opinion there’s more than enough to fill four days in Vienna.Quick question for you former Vienna visitors and all-round helpful types.

Recently back for Budapest and thinking of Vienna at some point. A very canny person said stay in Bratislava, small, cheap and interesting. Visit Vienna for a couple of day trips on the train. Don't know if that's a good idea? As I say a very careful with his money type.Bratislava is nice enough but it's a level or two below Vienna and Prague IMHO.
It's certainly a lot cheaper in Bratislava. Or you could do the right thing and stay in the Czech Republic and visit Bratislava and Vienna on day tripsRecently back for Budapest and thinking of Vienna at some point. We did Bratislava for the Xmas markets and did the reverse train to Vienna for the day as only took as you say 1 hour.Quick question for you former Vienna visitors and all-round helpful types.

Thanks. We're considering going for a half day. Couple of beers, wander round, spot of lunch and back to Vienna. Wouldn't bother if it wasn't in a different country, or if it was a longer trip.We did Bratislava for the Xmas markets and did the reverse train to Vienna for the day as only took as you say 1 hour.
If it wasant for the markets I think we would struggle after 24 hours as to what to do.
Cheaper than Vienna but not on the same level.
I fly to Lanzarote on Monday, finger crossed they've got the new system under control now.Came back from the Canaries yesterday. We had to do the fingerprint thing on arrival and returning but we were checked in and through security in fifteen minutes both ways
If you’d have arrived in BCN around lunchtime on Weds, you’d have been quite unhappy! Lines were long and people were slow!Through EES in Barcelona in 10-15 minutes. Probably helped by arriving at 10.30pm and it not being too busy. Pretty well organised with English-speaking help on hand, but be prepared to have to shove your passport in at least twice when it’s rejected the first time or even change machines.
