Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

The Great Coventry Invasion was 100% in the main stand as i was sat right behind it.
As has been said, they ran across the vacant seats in front of the police box and into the maine stand who all just looked at them bemused. It was quite funny to see them run back after about 30 seconds :)
Tbf it was a proper big day out for them, everyone I've ever met loved coming to Maine Road even though it was fraught with danger, especially with enhanced ticket allocations for cup games, it allows more nutters to get tickets, Cov lads gave it a little go but what they encountered outside will live with them for longer than their little nibble at the Main stand, they shit their pants.

Boro made a much better show in the same corner imo.

Boro did but that was still laden with shit housery

Hmm possible. Never sure if it was part of the north or main stand TBH
Think it was J Block. Sat in there once when on first game of the season bought the previous seasons Season Ticket book and couldn't get in so had to buy a new ticket from the ticket office and that's all that was left. Strange little section with a couple of hundred seats

Spoke to a decent Cov fan in the Ducie Arms before the match. He said " if you go down you will bounce back, if we go down their is no way back". He was proved right, as for their boys I've never seen anything so pathetic as an invasion of a lads and dad's area. They weren't to be seen at Highfield Rd on the last day of 77 season.
