Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Was that called J block?
Yes it was j block, I had a season ticket in k block next to it in the north stand when a nipper. You knew it was a big crowd when j block had fans in it, you could also access the main stand through a simple door underneath it, I used to have a wander at half time and usually ended up at the top near the press pack.
Everton and Boro were the only ones I recall making a real show in the north stand, the 81 cup replay springs to mind

Bit naughty at Leicester first game of 76 77 season. Massive City following and very small away end in one corner. City all over home stands police pulling them out and putting in the already over crowded away end. Mither from car park to ground and back, but enough City to see them off.

Leicester and lads.......never ever saw Leicester as being a problem.....never met the "baby squad" (ffs :)))
Don't ever recall them bringing anythang of note to us at Maine Road, when they were at Filbert Street they're welcoming committee posed us no real threat.

Big in the East Midlands.
Big during their morning assembly more like.

Even funnier waiting for them to come out of the North Stand after the game, shit it, ran back in and wouldn’t come out, rumour of the day was they had the so called Leicester “baby squad” amongst them.
Coventry n Leicester wouldn't have been together, especially away!

Leicester themselves did however have collusions of sort with Derby, the DLA (Derby Leicester Alliance.)

Think it was J Block. Sat in there once when on first game of the season bought the previous seasons Season Ticket book and couldn't get in so had to buy a new ticket from the ticket office and that's all that was left. Strange little section with a couple of hundred seats
Remember United being given that section at a derby , bizzare.

Remember it was red hot, people passing out in that corner, good kick off in a big park as the special was escorted back to the station fukin long walk. Gave it Leicester big style seem to remember a massive grass fire being started to add to the fun

Yes, remember the fire, also remember us being all over the ground and blues were waving at each other from different sections. Tbh I always thought that it was that game when the viking chant started and it was by blues in different areas of the ground, but everyone seems to reckon it was Norwich, so fair enough.

Also Brian Kidd's debut, said he couldn't believe the City support.

I remember the game, and we did run into there lot after the game, when we came out we walked towards there end, and if you remember it was a tight little street which ran along the back of the stand, it was full of Blues, but they walked down the middle of the street, towards us, but they were so close together, they were like sardines, and everyone parted for them, but it didn't go off, it was strange, they just walked forward and didn't make eye contact. i was surprised, but nothing happened, not many of them, maybe 80/90, but they were obviously game, something i will always remember, as normally it would have kicked off but it didn't.
