Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

yeah they mainly stood near the bottom of the tunnel in the Kippax near the away supporters, I remember a few choice lads that were always there Pat Berry, The Francis, crew, I seem to remember it started off with the Berry boys, the Kool Kats and mayne crew, ... they started. to take coaches to away games, I remember forest going on the coaches stopping off at Derby little chef, they robbed it up the forecourt garage, little chef , threw the till thro the window. smashed it open every 1 filled there pockets ... on the coach n off we went, with in 10 miles we had a cop escort into Nottingham, got parked up not enough coppers and every 1 split .. in the ground if you were black or half cast they picked you out for questioning... that was a long delayed journey back .. via the police station ... I think I remember a copper front of the bus waiting to take 1 at a time off the bus, .. n I think it was pat Berry kicked open the emergency rear door n did 1 ... dont get days like that n e more !!!
Good Morning. This is the grammar Police. Could we have 5 minutes of your time.

When I was a young lad and stood on the kippax with my mates I saw violence, it never involved me and strangely I never felt like I was threatened.

The only surly ones were the police who treated us like Rats, maybe it was just my perception of it at the time, probably glossed it over in my mind.

Mainly happened outside , in town or at away games.

You’re right about dibble though back then who didn’t give a fuck about football fans and still don’t

I wouldn’t!

Gobby ****

You were about 10 anyway

I’m talking 70’s early 80’s . By late 80’s early 90’s I’d pretty much jacked all that shit in. Plus things had changed a lot by then ….. CCTV , undercover dibble , prison time etc etc

Talking to a red mate tonight who was there that night
O’Neill was being a horrible racist to the wrong people (the nutty branch of the Singhs from Hulme/old Trafford) who called his bluff
Put a beer towel on his head and wandered over going ‘bloody bud bud’
One of them went out to the car and got his iron
