Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

For brightwells goal i was just behind the city dug out (was on tell and still on youtube).
I was 15/16 and forgot myself when bob scored and cheered. Neednet have worried, there was enough blues not to be bothered
I was in the seats in their North Stand in the block nearest the Stretford End which was standing at the time.
I jumped up too and realised what I'd done before clocking dozens of blues in the same section of seats.
Rags stood on the Stretford End sticking two fingers up at the blues who were cheering so I just laughed and waved at the wankers.

similar with the scousers saved by the dibble although a few still ran in and kicked or punched the cunts with police unable to really do much or not arsed. They eventually sneaked off and tried to blend in suddenly not so gobby. Blues then just went to the boozers or home.

I need to stop replying on these threads as my head goes back there like it's yesterday.

in my time being active, mid 00's + Everton always showed up, always up for it. We would regularly clash with them or they'd be wrapped up before we could do anything near the Etihad & Manchester. Actually clashed with them more when we didn't play each other and we were visiting some other place.

Liverpool have always been an embarrassment, the one time I remember they brought a mob of sorts they come in 3 groups and pushed the females in their groups to the front as they knew nobody would hit a women.

After the game City had hundreds out near the Bank of England and Mitchell. The older Liverpool had somehow gone past us and all was left was a police escort for aload of little scallies.

membThe IRA bombed Harrods around that time

Edit: Just checked and your memory is spot on - December 17th 1983 which was the same day we played Cambridge away
I thought I remembered something about a bomb..heard news on coach on way back but once you get to a certain age you can't always be sure lol

was walking round the shit pit trying to buy a ticket one year, under the stand next to the railway line. couple of rags walking towards the scoreboard end saying "lets go give it City". Some more rags heading back from there overheard them, " don't bother mate, they said, there's fucking hundreds of them". For some reason, ive never been worried about fronting the scum, home or away, inside or out.

Liverpool were a nightmare at their ground but not so clever away, Everton were handier.

The funny thing is I have to remember I'm a FOC whenever I hear and see away fans Gobbing off in town or on the tram. The urge to give them a clump is still strong lol.

Everton was always a nightmare place to visit . I have them amongst the worse two alongside Boro when they played at Ayrsome Park . In the 81 visit to Goodison we arrived at Lime street via the service train , only to be rounded up and held until the special arrived a hour or so later . We were then put onto 3 buses and taken to Goodison where they actually dropped us off on the road leading down to Everton`s Glady`s Street end where a large crowd of Evertonian`s had formed . Basically with the law behind us we had nowhere else to go but towards the large group of Evertonian`s gathered behind their end . City just ran at them and thankfully they scattered . Bar one who believe it or not pulled out a bloody samurai sword ! Anyway the coppers soon had him pinned up against the church railings and we got into the ground without any further hassle . Half time arrived and a decision was made to leave and get back to the station . So a few hundred of us left and headed back to Lime Street . On the way a few managed to rob and lad of his sheep skin coat and smash up the casino place adjacent to Lime Street station . Liverpool`s Las Vegas i think it was called . Haven`t a clue what the final score was . In regards the Liverpool Semi that year , We got in late with a few hundred jocks . I was actually stood next to a blue who got stabbed up the arse at the front of the Anfield Rd end . Remember there was a large section of blues in the seating right next to the Kop . Outside was fun on the walk back to the station . And as always , we got plenty of verbal from those 2 blocks of flats just before the city centre . Cheated out of the final but great away days if not a little edgy at times . .
