Having a go at taking the Boothen End at Stoke with Donald and co. That was fun. Would have been in the late 70s.
When we were in div2 etc we were always the big club in town so even the small clubs came a few handed when we visited
The 67/68 game against Everton was a Monday night game, last home game of the season, Book and Coleman scored in a 2-0 win, vital for the title chase. Think it was also the night the rags lost 6-3 at West Brom which boosted our title hopes.Yes but the North Stand hadn't been built in 67/68 . It was still the Scoreboard End and away fans sometimes went in there.
I remember Everton fans piling out of there at a Good Friday game. I was about 12 at the time so it could have been that 67/68 season.
Ok fair enough. We are talking about games from over 50 years ago so it is easy to get seasons mixed up. I have just said the same in a pm to Cyberblue. The 67/68 game against Everton was a Monday night game, last home game of the season, Book and Coleman scored in a 2-0 win, vital for the title chase. Yep , i can recall going down to Southend for a league cup tie in a 70's or 80's night match, and even they had a few hundred yobs that were hellbent on giving us grief all night , and trying to get at us outside the ground .... as you say we were the biggest scalp for those clubs that we visited in those days.

My normally good memory is starting to fade a little bit these days.

Luton was a bad place to go, they were always up for ambushes .... even trips to Blackpool had their moments, they hated us for some reason!
That Texaco cup game - Law's last match for City (not the derby, as many believe).Yeah Blackpool had a proper hard on for us..... maybe that texaco cup game did it?
One cup game , night match, a mob we came across all brought blades out .... which surprised me .... scary night.
