There was murders going on with groups of fans fighting all along the road back towards Piccadilly - different times
On there previous visit to Manchester they gave the Stretford Enders their worse ever battering. A year or two later went to Ibrox for a friendly they treated us like brothers had a great day drinking with the Bears. They have played the rags in a couple of CL games and their visits to Manchester have passed without serious incident. I worked in Blackpool at the time of the euro league final, tens of thousands of Bears there no trouble whatever. Think the night went pants in Manchester with the lack of a fan park, think it could have been provided with a park and ride in Heaton Park. Had proper provision been made sure there would have been vastly less trouble. Think their would have been mither with any major club faced with the same circumstances .Yeah I member that well
I was walking across Pic Gardens at the time of 7am to catch a bus to Chorlton where I worked
This Scot came up to me
And offered me a can of super strength lager
He said "Tae get you through day Son"
I politely declined
Around 12 am the day was going crap at work so I had a sneak look at Picadilly
On the PC
It was mega the whole place was swamped
I wondered if I should have took that can off him
That night we were playing 5 aside in Cheadle, but going through Stockport there were more of them
Getting in taxis or buses
Thank goodness I missed that lot ,at 5 as it soon turned nasty when the satellite went down and they lost the signal to the screens in Pic Gardens
The following day PG was a mess
Stank of urine, blooon the walkway .
And before all this happened Councillor Karney was banging on about the event bringing cash to the city
When in Reality it brought Chaos
Never invite Rangers again!

Came back from Leeds normally had to dodge rag ambush at Victoria no need that night, Bears battering them all over town.I went to that mate they smashed United all over, they had most of the ground including the Stretford End it seemed like they just wanted to clear United out of the ground, climbing over seats to get into any section they were in.
We just told them we were blues come to watch them and had no issues.
