Our best show against Birmingham was Maine road semi final replay v Fulham they got leathered in Town before and after the game. They outnumbered Fulham and were taking liberties, then shit themselves when faced by 200 of City’s finest

I was at that Maine Road semi final in the Fulham half of the Kippax , and it was a bit dodgy at the end as the pissed off Brummies swarmed around our exits attacking everyone they could see ...

I was also at the Maine Road semi final between Leeds and Wolves , and that certainly had its troublesome moments too !

I’ve perused a few hooligan books in Airport Departure Lounges, and I’m probably not the only one who immediately searches for the incidents involving City

Birmingham reference the 82-83 goalless draw at Maine Road, which apparently provided the Zulu nickname (and it makes sense if you remember that the violence after their 2007-08 defeat at the ETIHAD was also their 25th anniversary, and the main reason why so many of their old “boys” were out in force that day)

Leeds cite an ambush after their 3-2 victory at Maine Road in November 1977 as their main motivation for the revenge attacks at the FA Cup the following January.

West Ham claim to thave thrown Daft Donald through a Wimpey window,(which sounds feasible), but all their books seem to admire City, especially WANT SOME AGGRO which chronicles the late 60s and early 70s
It definitely wasn't Daft Donald.
Think it was Donald Francis who got thrown through the window at Wimpeys - I was in town that day and that was the story going around

As a young lad I lived in Newcastle after we moved there in 78 from Gorton.

I used to go to most home matches at Roker Park as they were top flight in them days and then at James park on the other week as were 2nd division

I can honestly say them geordies and mackams are all proper loonies

They certainly were in the seventies , but i reckon they have both mellowed a bit since then ..... Middlebrough, on the other hand , are probably still as uncouth and 'yobbish' as they ever were.
