Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

That was the game the Leeds cnuts pushed my Mother over, i was 14 & went mental swinging at everyone around me, i think i hit more City fans than Leeds haha.
Hated the cnuts ever since
Sounds about right for these scumbags. I remember them coming out of the north stand some time in the early nineties next to the family stand, ploughing through families shouting ”come on Manchester, too easy”. Shithouses, never forget.

Think the Birmingham game was mid 80's. Remember being in the ground just before kick off and the Zulus were outside wondering why they couldn't get at us. Probably because they had been smacked all around the place prior to kick off and they were now acting like big time charlies save in the knowledge we were all inside. Carnage afterwards though behind the stand which was just wasteland.
That’s the one the night game. It was Carnage after the game and yes behind the stand we were in.thought it was going to be another .brum Leeds Chaos scenario.

No they didn’t. This is the story. 1st game of the season 1973-74 (D Law 2nd debut) they got in the Kippax about 1:30, unopposed as it was so early. They were in the top left (City part). I was 14 then and always in by 1:30. I stood in the usual spot but unaware of who was around me at first. I soon moved! The Brum fans were there until just before half time, loads of trouble, City eventually shifted them. I got arrested for foul language and subsequently fined £20. (£1/week). City won 3-1
Yep , id pretty much agree with that .....

i was in the Platt Lane that day and you could clearly see, at one particular point in the first half, all the commotion and trouble in the Kippax , it was pretty clear that there were a fair number of Birmingham fans in there ..... but City definitely 'outed' them , and i don't recall much trouble after half time.

Birmingham fans claim they took the Kippax, I’ve explained it was the early days of segregation, they still claim to have taken the Kippax.

They were certainly in the kippax on the day in question, but after a large bout of trouble just prior to half time you never saw them again .

Their claim to have 'taken the kippax' is laughable ... as is Coventrys to have taken Maine Road!

Coventry should start by trying to take back the Ricoh !

Great thread. Always a chicken myself but love the stories of Blues coming out on top. Only scared twice with my lad.West Ham at home when they craftily bought away seats in the Main Stand at Maine Rd and were waving to their away end in the Kippax. Other was Cardiff away in cup. Lost 1-0.
