House Of The Dragon (GOT Prequel)

Thought it was brilliant, particularly the last scene at the stepstones. Matt Smith is playing Daemon brilliantly, amazing that he stole the whole episode without saying a word.

Loved hearing the rains of castamere, was wondering about it’s inclusion as it’s set before the rise of House Lannister but then made the connection between the Reynes hiding underground from Tywin and the Crab Feeder hiding in his cave.

The pace reminded me of early GOT, 45 minutes of politics and exposition and then 15 minutes of unreal action.

I think it’s going great.

Definitely better than other recently released fantasy show.
A bit better than the Lord of the Rings. And a lot better than The Wheel of Time.

But worse than many others: The Witcher, First two seasons of The Boys, The Umbrella Academy, The Sandman, First two seasons of Stranger Things.

House of the Dragon is a good watch, but it's not compelling.

Agree on the Matt Smith performance.
I only watched a few of the Dr.Who's when my boy used to watch them, but Matt Smith stood out for me and this is him defining a completely different character (remember when Ronnie Barker used to do that?).

Brutal on the Crab guy....thought he'd stick around for a bit.

Liking it so far, think some of the acting is continuing to stay several notches above GOT and the action scenes so far have been really well done.

I don’t really get the need for having to rate every series against each other. Each one of the Witcher, Lotr, Wheel of Time and this I’ve found enjoyable watching. There’s flaws in all of them but not enough for me to dislike them enough to stop watching.

Just started it, not sure Paddy C is great for the role so far, I’ll give it time though

Watching it, but hasn't grabbed me enough that I watch it as soon as available unlike GoT, maybe because I already know how the story will go so know the main charactors fate already.

Also even in GoT the starks and lanisters were more interesting and those at court the ones in this like otto etc are dull and without Matt Smith and Milly Alcocks performances it's pretty average.

Maybe when it timeshifts and it gets into dance of the dragons it may peak my interest more.
