He is a CM/CAM. Don‘t know why people claim that he is similar to Gundogan. He is better in a 1on1, plays with flair and is more a Iniesta type of player. I just wonder how much he gets from Foden‘s gametime. And to be honest it‘s better to switch Bernardo to the middle and go for a LW.Wudnt be so sure on that one.

Hope not. He's got good pace and has played well in wide positions in terms of crossing & stretching the play, but he's Dave's heir and should play there in CAM.I think we'll see a bit more of foden out wide than we might have originally expected. that means he won't be fighting for the same spot as Aouar all the time

It didn't hurt Dave playing out wide for us in his early days.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but all season we have played with 2 left footed wingers on the right and a right footed winger on the left. They have basicly played as inside forwards and we have tried to use our fullbacks to provide most of the width.

He's talking about the old school days. Pellegrini, for example, used to play 4222. So if u were a winger in that system you were pretty much just an offensive mid that starts out a bit wider, meaning we had a midfield 4Maybe I'm reading it wrong but all season we have played with 2 left footed wingers on the right and a right footed winger on the left. Foden would be fine with that role but he's also got a lot of experience playing RW in a 433 for England youth teams and he was very good there. He's got a turn of pace that Silva, Nasri never had in that "interior" role.
It didn't hurt Dave playing out wide for us in his early days.
Silva got the game time though. Foden still has Mahrez, Bernardo and Sterling ahead of him for the RW role.
If we sign Aouar, someone has to leave either in CM or RW if we don't want Foden's game time impacted.

I understand what he is saying but think he is looking at it 2 black and white, for me Dave is prime example, he played centrally as well as wide for us for Spain he played as a wide forward.
I think Foden is more versatile than Dave and think the game time in what ever position will help him along in his progress.
