Houssem Aouar

He's good but other than playing a bit similar to Iniesta, Aouar doesn't really look an outstanding talent in my eyes. There's nothing about him that really stands out except his technique and he doesn't really do anything extraordinary when I watch him

This is the guy I'd go for:

Everything Aouar does Bernardo can do better, and Phil could probably equal it. I just don't see how we're a better team with Aouar in it. There's also questions over how Aouar would transition to PL as he seems used to taking a lot of touches before passing. Brandt on the other hands is a extremely fast thinker and plays with creativity and directness that is similar to KDB

Comparing a winger to a CM
Are you right in your head?
He's got similar goal/assist numbers as Odeegard across all competitions btw
And not sure how many of the players you've named have bossed a team like Juventus and gotten MOTM in a big CL game like he did.

Brandt has been a CM/CAM for over 2 years now you idiot, start watching football instead of commenting on players you know nothing about. Football is not only about goals and assists, watch Odegaard and then Aouar and it's hard to deny that Odegaard looks a lot more special

For instance. Aouar only average 1 key pass per 90 wheras Odegaard averages 2.42 key passes per 90. That's a huge difference for a 8 and implies that Odegaard should have a lot more of assist than Aouar, and that it can be put down to the quality of his teammates. Odegaard is also doing that in a better league. We don't need another ball recycler, we have at least 4 midfielders that can do that better or the same as Aouar

Tell me what's special about Aouar if you know so much. He's pressure resistent and his passing ability is above average, what else? His stats doesn't stand out, his underlying stats doesn't standout and he doesn't stand out when I watch him. Etienne Capoue bossed the midfield against Liverpool when they won 3-0, should we buy him too?

Proving your ignorance more and more, what part of "across all competitions" do you have trouble reading properly? Since you keep bringing up LEAGUE statistics only.
Lyon had an horrific start to the Ligue 1 season across the board, and despite that he still has better stats than Julian Brandt across the board, use your whoscored correctly please since it seems that's where you're learning your football.

Odegaard doesn't even play as an 8 ffs, he is a 10 and always been a 10, Mason Mount did more than him in Eredivisie before being sent back in the Championship and not even managing half as much.
This is his first season in Spain where he gets hailed as savior by Madrid media for every little thing he does, he's no Kylian Mbappe.

You need to tell me what's special about Odeegard, you want a discount Kevin De Bruyne? Cause he's never getting a game ahead of KdB literally none of what he brings can't be done much better by KdB

Don't get me started on Brandt, he's 5th or 6th best talent in that Dortmund team, there are much better players to buy at that club than Julian Brandt.

1. Our 8's are pretty much 10's, I thought have been well known for years. Both KDB and David are natural 10's. So buying offensive midfielders and improving their pressing will probably yield the best results

2. Brandt is easily better than both Odegaard and Aouar, and I think Odegaard will be better than Aouar in the future. How on earth are you counting to 5 talents at Dortmund better than Brandt? Can you name them? The only two players comparable are Sancho (who's probably a bigger talent than Brandt) and Haaland (a bit overhyped and very raw). Jesus christ..

Brandt is a bit similar to KDB in terms of directness and smartness, but is that necessarily a bad thing? Just give him instructions to be more of a ball retainer and play with less risk. Because he definitely got the vision, football iq and passing to play different midfield roles. Also, talking about Odegaard being a shit KDB but what does Aouar offer that Bernardo or Phil cannot? Don't come here talking about delusion when you evidently don't watch football outside of Premier League and CL, this is not Football Manager or Fifa my guy

"Just give him instructions to be more of a ball retainer and play with less risk" so sign him up and change his style?

I'll just simplify my point to how they would both fit into the team, because this is all about our own personal preference and there is right or wrong.

like you said Aouar Offers the "same skill set" that Bernardo/Phil does. So effectively try to think of him as a right footed Bernardo/Phil. THAT is the exact skill set we need to look for, in our LCM

And you say(I haven't seen much of him) that effectively, brandt plays like KDB 2.0.

So does brandt also primarily play on the right(like Kevin) or is he more left sided?

So if he plays on the right, then it's going to be a selection choice between KDB, Brandt, or Bernardo Silva

And If Brandt plays on the left, then he would once again, only have a chance of playing if KDB is not playing. Because I doubt we will play/start a game with two direct & risk taking 8's.

So Brandt will play only if KDB does not start, because
On the right: he won't start over KDB
On the left: he won't start if KDB starts
LCM: Brandt, Foden
RCM: KDB, Bernardo, Brandt, Foden

So effectively Foden is our ONLY "consistent option" for the LCM spot.

Meanwhile Aouar, as I said, for simplicity sake, think of him as a right footed Bernardo/Foden that plays LCM

So our XI selection choices would be:
LCM: Aouar or Foden
RCM: KDB or Bernardo or Foden(plays both side)

You are both arguing for the sake of arguing, we want Aouar to play as a no. 8 so in essence we will have Rodri and Dinho holding, Gundo and Aouar as centre midfielders and Kev and Foden as 10's.

I like Phil to the left and Bernardo as the KDB backup better. But then there would be 3 players for the left 8 if we add Aouar. Gundogan and Aouar are very similar players as well

I might not have been clear enough as English is not my first language. I don't neccesarly think Aouar is a similar player to Phil and Bernardo, just that whatever Aouar offers Phil and Bernardo can do as well. Brandt and Aouar however are definitely similar players and play similar roles. They're both technical and smart ball playing midfielders. Both would be great in the LCM role, and both play LM from time to time (Brandt used to be a LM). However I don't believe Aouar offers anything too different to Gundogan, and I'm a bit sceptical to how he'd transition to PL football. Everytime I watch him he seems to take a lot of touches before he passes the ball whereas Brandt seems to be a much quicker thinker and plays those clever passes to teammates on the first touch instead. Brandt also plays more advanced passes that leads to goalscoring opportunities in my opinion as he has better vision than Aouar. He's still an engine just like Aouar, but that part of his game reminds me of KDB.

Aouar is a good player but personally I have a hard time seeing him becoming world class in the future like many believe. That is just my opinion. For example Gundogan who is a similar player type was a lot better than Aouar's current level when he was at that age. I think Brandt would be a better LCM in our system and Aouar would be a better deep lying playmaker
