Houssem Aouar

Gundogan is brilliant in the deeper six role, definitely not in the 8.

not against the best he isnt - he leaves us so exposed time after time.

Against average prem opponents where we have huge chunks of possession we are ok with him there but against anyone top class with him there you might as well play no one.

He isn’t going to be first choice there so it isn’t an issue really. He also looked very good there with Bernardo a bit deeper alongside him giving KDB a free role ahead of them.

I disagree mate. Post Xmas last year in that role he was absolutely top top class. Yet to let us down in that role for me.

the 2 Matches against Tottenham last year, we were super exposed.

At Home in the CL (fern only played last 30')
At Home in the PL (Fern came in 37' min but he was injured from the CL first leg still)

during the 14 Win streak We were Super tight defensively. Playing with Inverted Wingers But almost never having either of the full backs push up.

contrary to Normal Pep we were prioritizing defense first during that streak. 3 goals against in 14 games.

We were linked to him in April/May but this deal seems dead. If we were close to signing him then surely there would be reports coming from France?

Don't think we'll sign him.

Rangers played Lyon in friendly games and their coaching staff were gushing in their praise of Aouar and the defensive midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The Italian papers are linking Aouar with a move to Italy, but that might just be a bit of devilment ahead of OL’s game against Juventus.
