How can people still be negative about mancini?

1. I wish people would stop bringing up Everton. It wasn't our tactics that cost us that match. Tactics didn't make us miss our chances, nor did tactics prevent Kompany from losing out on two very good headers. By the way, don't get me wrong. I think Vincent is our player of the season.

2. I've said it before and I'll keep repeating it. I think the loss at Anfield was one of the most positive steps for the club in the past few years because Mancini took complete responsibility (without absolving the players who didn't deserve absolution) despite how rightfully angry everyone was about it. He learned from it. He stepped up and took responsibility for it. He didn't blame everyone and God for it. Do we think Arsene Wenger would have stepped up like that? He wouldn't, and that's why his teams don't have the mentality to challenge. Mancini taking credit for the loss like that I bet very much increased his credibility in the dressing room.

3. The Premier League is not a fucking pay meter. Don't know if you have those (you probably do) but it's not like that. You don't simply insert money until you have the result you want in one season. That is not the nub of anything. It's a poor, poor argument and frankly it makes me question either the ability of the person to understand the game or their agenda (and sometimes it makes me question both.) Look how long it's been since Real Madrid won it all.

I've respectfully bowed out of this thread - but I'm happy to send you a PM defending by my ability to understand the game and my agenda. Both of which frankly, are as piss poor an argument as you're accusing me of having.

man up billy...fight for your forum rights. ;)

My take on this is certain posters are still upset with the fact Bobby Manc shipped out there favourite pikey for being shit, who apparently was on his way to Rags/Arsenal/Chelsea.The fact that Mancini's decision has been vindicated seems to have been forgotten!

FFS

I have held my hands up which I am quite happy to do but as always we get the "the country bumpkins don't understand the ways of the townies" fucking arguments"

I have watched all forms of football for more years than I care to remember and at times was watching 150+ games a season. I don't appreciate being told that I Know fuck all about football just because I dont think like the fucking clique.

Just because someones opinion differs from yours doesn't make them a fifth columnist.

How can people still be negative about Mancini? I suspect it's an ego thing, they can't be seen to have been wrong on some internet forum.

This sums things up rather well.

This season-long debate has been 'Wrong man for the job' versus 'Give him time', and there's only one side to have been vindicated. I wish we could all be right, but hey - some of us appreciated that a manager in his first full season (plus 6/7 of the starting 11 in their first season in England) might make some mistakes along the way.

From the rather spiffy 'Mancini Out' thread...

Didsbury Dave:
"If Mancini is retained I'm going to think hard about renewing. I'll never desert the blues but it will kill my faith in the sheikh and khaldoons ability to make the right football decisions.
They retained hughes too long. If they allow this guy to derail the project any longer they prove their football naivity. But I don't believe they will. I have faith in The Sheikh's ability to see through this charlatan".

Britney Spears:
"Mancini is a charlatan. A fake. An overhyped moron with an overinflated ego who has been found out time and time and time again since he got here. He wouldn't get a fucking job managing Sunderland, let alone a club with serious ambitions in this league. It's been a nice break from Bluemoon for me and it will continue as long as that piece of shit manager is in charge of our beloved club...
Enjoy Wembley lads....my ticket has gone to someone who gives a shit. I don't.
Yeah yeah yeah. Damocles. It's been 12 months of me being told I'm being knee jerk. With respect - I can't stand the guy. Actively despise him. I truly believe he's a garbage manager. I'm sure you can patronize the fuck out of me with lots of long winded prose about his abilities. Won't change my opinion. You're backing a loser, and time will prove me right. Until then the floor is yours...."

DD:
"Now, can we start to see the light up top, get this fucker out and move on please, because if you don't see the light, we are going to win fuck all in my lifetime. PLEASE listen to me. PLEASE! I am lietrally begging you! :( "

All we ever asked was that you had a bit of patience, lads! Still, the important thing is that we're here now.

To answer your question, "I don't know": we've just won the league with three games to spare, retained the F.A. Cup, semi-finals of the League Cup, andwe made it through to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Bloody Nora! That'll do for me!
