How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

The moral is - always be wary of politicians who promise to 'cut red tape.'

It sounds good, but most 'red tape' is there for a reason. Moreover, in my experience, every attempt to 'cut bureaucracy' leads to increased bureaucracy, although often in a different location.

People want simple answers. I see this every day, whenever I read public opinion in the media. But the world is an incredibly complex place, and there are no simple answers to complex problems. What politicians often do is the equivalent of trying to fix a computer with a sledgehammer.

You could change the thread title as the question now is "If we keep highlighting how bad Brexit is, how soon will it be politically possible to advocate rejoining, or at least paying to have the benefits of SM/CU?"

Remainers have won the argument, so how can the damage done by the Brexiteer "winners" be ameliorated?

Y not leaving in the first place or rejoining. Too late for the first one, and too soon for the second. We're a few brexit threads away from going back I think.

It will never be over until we have politicians who can accept the real landscape - both Conservative and Labour are campaigning on a platform of "we are the ones who can force the square peg into the round hole and make it all better " and the Lib Dems seem to think that under them we will rejoin by next Wednesday - meanwhile reforms recipe if a fucking joke. Brexit has fucked up a couple of generations of politics for us all

I’m not convinced that he is necessarily bad, just that he comes from a world so different from everyone else’s.
He has lived in a closeted, cosseted world where nanny will clean up after your mistakes and there will always be some minion to cater for your every whim. He has never had to struggle or even want for anything. He believes that he is superior because he‘s been told that all his life.
He simply cannot relate to ordinary people and their circumstances and for that reason alone he should never be allowed near the levers of power.
That doesn’t stop him being a total c*nt of course.
