How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

He did say it though so probably best to stop swearing. I can only imagine how red your face is right now.
It’s not red. It is just insufferable that people quote this. He doesn’t decide. He has one vote like me. It shows a distinct lack of understanding of the situation. A lack of political savvy and as I said it’s embarrassing. Do you have someone in England who decides what you should think? I hope not, but since you quoted Salmond maybe you do. I prefer to think for myself as do millions of my fellow Scots.

I live and work in Scotland.

I also have an opinion, voice and vote.

You may need to keep repeating this until your blue in the face, or maybe not…

I actually agree, it is the most puerile argument put forward and makes no sense given the subsequent election results. When people trot it out, they should be asked: ‘Given the election results in Scotland post the referendum, what democratic avenue should people wishing independence take?’

I understand that some people are against Independence and wish the issue would go away, but they have to formulate better arguments than ‘a man once said’.

To resist the calls for another referendum is tantamount to saying democracy stopped in 2014, and that is both a counterproductive and dangerous position to adopt.

Only issue with this argument is Independance day+1 and any talk of another referendum anytime down the line for reunification and well, you can guess what the answer to that will be from those who now want a vote as many times as they like, well, right up to the point they get the answer they want that is ;-)

Exactly.

“You had a go 8 years ago and regardless of you voting for a party who told you they wanted another referendum, and you voted for them every election since, aware that another reference was the goal, you had a fat guy who said that it was only once in a generation, so sorry, you can’t have one.”

The utter fucking stupidity of that is bad enough. But for anyone on a political forum to repeat it, as if it had any merit, makes me understand a bit more why Tories keep winning in England.

Democracy is not stuck in time. Democracy reflects the views of the people through voting. People change their minds and have a right to. We haven’t voted for the Tories in over 70 years, yet we have been under their heel for the majority of that time.

I was never for Indy for the majority of my life. But, when you realise that England can’t get enough of the cunts, which I have said, is their right, we have to re examine our position. Labour are dead here now and sadly to get in have to become Red Tories. They committed political suicide and will only recover as a force here if they get behind Indy and slug it out after. I will never vote for them again. They betrayed us with their shoulder to shoulder Tory love in involvement in project fear. I hate them more than the Tories. They are traitors. I can understand enemies and even respect them in how they con working class people they care about them. Only seems to work in England, but it works. Traitors never. I used to be a member of Labour. We used to return 40+ MP’s, now it’s one. They will never be forgiven. We Scots can hold a grudge for fucking centuries.

Of course, that is modern democracy. However, if people are frightened of that reality, then it suggests they have little understanding of civics.

How does it feel to have been on a football forum for 11 years and you have now posted around 50% of your entire posts on a topic you don’t care about?

Why not just get on with life as this has no effect on it?
I take it Maths isn’t your strongest subject. Was you at the same school as that famous Mathematician, Ms Abbot by any chance.
I just like to bring a different slant to your cosy Club on here.
Easily identifiable as your always the same posters and enthusiastically give each other likes what ever is said
Where is that other Bastion of the Left Karen, unlike her to be quiet on here
Your all so easy to wind up it can be quite entertaining.

I can’t speak for others, but you don’t wind me up. You make me chuckle.

You're just here to tell us how much you don’t care about Brexit as it doesn’t affect you enough for you to form an opinion about it.

Nothing tells us that you don’t care about it more than you repeating yourself to make sure we have noticed that you don’t care.

You‘re not trying to bait people not in the conversation to join in. Isn’t that classed as WUMing?

But you all just come out with the same boring crap. It’s as though your all pre programmed.
Always going on about what’s wrong then spouting some outdated ideology to cure all ills that never works in the real world.
Anyway, it is time to move on as I am not going to change anyone’s views or them mine.
Finally, good luck with the Independence vote. If I had a vote I would be quite happy to cast them off and wish them well on their journey Taking their fair share of the National Debt with them of course.
