How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Kent County Council's cabinet member for roads, Cllr Neil Baker, has told councillors that biometric checks set to be introduced by the European Union in October to replace the manual stamping of passports could lead to congestion on the county's roads for years to come. Cllr Baker said the council "could be looking at the equivalent of three years solid of Brock being in place", referring to Operation Brock, the traffic management system introduced to deal with queues of lorries backed up from the Port of Dover. "This is going to be a serious, serious mess", he said, and "it is not just Kent – we are probably going to look at, potentially, 12 to 14 hour queues up at the Eurostar terminal in London. It's going to be grim."
57% in Kent voted for brexit.
I hope they are delighted that they have got what they voted for.

“I’d rather not be talking about Brexit again. But part of being the Mayor of London is about standing up for our city. We’ve got to be frank – Brexit is simply not a peripheral concern that we can leave in the past – it’s a key contributor to the cost-of-living crisis right now and it’s resulting in lost opportunities, lost business and lost income at a time when people and companies can least afford it.

“The cost of Brexit crisis can only be solved if we take a mature approach and if we are open to improving our trading arrangements with our European neighbours. I agree with the Shadow Foreign Secretary, who has said we urgently need to build a closer relationship with the EU. Because a new settlement would not only turbocharge our economy and help to raise living standards but help to unlock the growth and prosperity we need.”

This is exactly what we voted for.

So he got Brexit - what's his beef?

To answer OPs question.

Accept it’s been a clusterfuck and put a plan in place to rejoin asap
It's not up to us if we want to rejoin. Yes, leaving has been a huge mistake, but rejoining is going to be on their terms. They aren't bothered about us leaving, it was our decision as an independent sovereign nation, but they are going to put in place three key points if we want to rejoin.

We have the Euro as our currency.
We join the Shengen area.
We have proportional representation in our elections.

It's going to be decades before those conditions are agreed, if ever. It will be a test of our commitment to the cause.

it's 20 years since the Czech Republic joined the EU and they still haven't adopted the Euro. Schengen is being eroded. Is PR a requisite?
