How do you assess our transfer business?

another uninspiring window ! ! dias looks good ! ake and torres will be ok but we needed more to challenge for the league! silva and sane gone and we are still short at left back and needed another striker! so not great in my opinion!
Could of done with a game controller like david silva but they are few and far between so pretty sub standard window.

We are well down on the quality we need to be a force again.

Leadership is sadly lacking and it shows in the performances.

We need to be far more aggressive in the market in the future otherwise we are just making up the numbers.

Khaldoon does an interview states about the planning etc and you get excited
Then it unfolds and you just think what a load of bullshit propaganda
If we were aggressive in the market then messi would be here
We are losing players to Bayern and Barca and buying players from Bournemouth, Benfica and Valencia
That’s not a slight on those players btw

A disappointing window for me, Ake and Torres are decent signings but don’t immediately improve the starting 11. Dias looks like he could be a top signing but to early to really say.

We haven’t replaced Sane, left back is still an issue, as fans we have all said if we get an injury to a striker we will be light upfront and the club have ignored it. Now we are dropping points when a striker may have got us the 2nd goal to kill the game off.

I do also think having something new and exciting in the final 3rd can give a buzz and lift everyone. We look a bit stale and short of confidence in the final 3rd. Maybe Sergio coming back will lift everyone.

That said we as fans tend to think about one season at a time and want to win the league and everything else this year. The club will be thinking 4/5 years ahead when they put a squad together, we have a young defence now, Foden and a few youth players coming through, Bernardo and sterling still have a few years in them. So if they think they will get better value for money buying a Haaland or another top striker next year I can see why the club might be willing to wait. It’s about building a team over a 2/3 year spell that eventually all peaks together to give a period of dominance.
I saw Soriano talking about this way of thinking once.

Messi had nothing at all to do with us being aggressive, it was entirely between him and Barcelona. We may still get a left back that would be 4 good signings. Judging players on the club they come from is plain stupid. Loads of the best players around ,ever, have started at smaller clubs, probably the majority.
We’ve lost one player in 8 years to Barca or Bayern at least only one player we wanted to keep.
