How do you assess our transfer business?

I think we’ve done maybe 40% of our intended business so far, and that there’s more to come and go, but that the best measure is to compare us to our direct rivals.
IMO, to date we’re doing well and are only behind CFC in terms of our improvements - they’ve had an exceptional window.
I think we’ve had a marginally better window that LFC but not made up much ground as they’ve improved, albeit short-term, with Thiago.
Regards MUFC, I think Torres & Ake improve us more than Donny the Beak improves them.

So, I have us in 2nd place in the transfer window squad / team improvement competition at this moment in time.
If THFC get Bale signed (another short term but definite improvement) then we’ll move down to 3rd but, as already said, I think we’ve still got 60% of our intended business to complete and I’m happy enough with how it’s going.

Ake and Torres are good signings but don't think we've addressed the weaknesses in the squad really.

CB, CM and Striker we look way light.

CB should definitely come in at some point, but not heard much on the other 2

Also we are bringing in £70m from Sane and Angelino so we haven't really spent anything yet?

I don't get why we or moreso Utd (as they were actually in for him) didn't go for the Reguilon deal. Worst comes to worst Real want him back next summer and Spurs make a profit having had a good player for a year. Looks like ego more than sense

If nothing else if Pep wins the league this year it’ll answer the age old question as to wherever he could be a success with a shit team...

We've gone from the best team in Europe to a side that is seriously unbalanced and that's down to transfers.
How would you describe the other 18 teams in the PL that finished a country mile behind us last season? We are stronger than we were last season with the addition of Ake, Torres, a fit Laporte, Foden getting more time and better every game, hopefully a back to form Bernardo. Add hopefully another strong right side CB, Rodri second season settled in and things are exactly looking as grim as you make out.

Our problem wasn't scoring goals last season, and I don't think it will be this season either.

Ultimately, a back four of Walker Koulibaly Laporte Ake or back five of Walker Koulibaly Laporte Ake and Mendy makes me feel infinitely happier than Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Zinchenko. It also contains better variations and cover, and that still doesn't include Stones who will look better with either Ake or Koulibaly in the team. If we can't sign Koulibaly, then we need another right CB for me to feel ok about this year.

It'd be nicer to have another striker, but I don't think it's desperate and we can wait till next year and still happily challenge.

Really
I think at least Barca Real and Athletico Juve Liverpool and few others will argue against that
Anyway plenty of time to address the weaknesses somebody said with sales we haven’t spent much at all are we therefore waiting for a big big player this year ( Messi)
Or perhaps one of the to young forwards next summer
Who knows
Too soon to judge for me

Shit team seriously Jesus
You needed to be around in the 80s
We are transitioning slightly lost a few legends but it’s also a whole new world with Corona and minimal / unknown income streams maybe our plans had to change
