How does booing help?

I didn't boo the Tevez substitution, but I was pretty vocal in my reaction to it. If the performances aren't good enough I'll let them know about it, I held back a little on Saturday because I'm of the opinion the players are doing what Mancini has asked of them. It's hard to chastise the players for slowing the pace, playing keep ball, passing sideways and backwards etc when you get the distinct impression they've been asked to do exactly that by the manager.

For me there was one main reason we failed to beat Birmingham, and it was Mancini's tactics.

Mancini's 11 v Birmingham

Hart

Boateng
Toure
Kompany
Kolarov

Toure
de Jong
Silva

Johnson
Tevez
Milner

Tevez had plenty of support either side of him, the midfield also had Silva deployed in a free role, that is an attacking line up, how the hell did Mancini's tactics prevent us from winning the game?

I must of watched a different game on Saturday because that was a fucking shocking performance, absolute dog shit. I didn't boo but I can understand those that did. Blame the fans brigade will give it, I'm a bigger blue than you because I support the manager bullshit. I support manchester city not the fucking manager and he's severed up at least 11 games of pure shite. Yeah were 4th we should be thankful, thankful that the teams that should be around us are just as bad as us.

Allthough I don't agree with Boo-ing I believe in freedom of speech. For the brave men who lost there lives to allow us this freedom we gave a minutes silence. If people disagree with boo-ing then why not drown out the noise by clapping the team off showing support then the players would not hear the minority.

Okay so the question I would ask is why didn't you boo? What stopped you?

that's what I did as soon as people started singing Bellamy's name, I started chanting we love you city we do to SUPPORT my team because I am a SUPPORTER

The problem is most fans don't realise they also have a role to play for Manchester City Football Club, just as the owner, manager and players all do. They have this ''right, i'm here now, entertain me'' attitude. They act more as customers than fans. People go on about how the manager got tactics wrong and not getting along with some players or how players didn't put in a shift and play with passion for the team, same applies to the fans who don't get behind their team and cheer them on even when the chips were down. How much the players earn means fuck all because they are people too who eat and shit just like the rest of us and booing cannot have any positive effect on them. Maybe some of these ''fans'' feel they've ''earned the right'' because they've been supporting City for however long or because they've paid for a ticket to see the match however thats not where being a fan should end. Just as a player is only as good as his last game, a fan is also only as good as their last support and there's no point at which you've done enough and deserve to be only entertained. You need to earn being a good supporter every game. Just because we've now got all these talented players doesn't mean we've made it so should sit back and enjoy, this is just the beginning of what could be a great journey if we continue to get behind our team for example by at least not denting their confidence with mindless boos as it negatively affects their performance. It's important ;-)

Or maybe the small matter of most of them playing their third game in a week?

I've never booed any player or manager past or present but I can understand fans letting their frustration out by booing.

You yourself admit you would never boo so consciously, or subconsciously, you're aware that it can serve no positive purpose.

So what's the point?
