How does booing help?

I didn't boo the Tevez substitution, but I was pretty vocal in my reaction to it. If the performances aren't good enough I'll let them know about it, I held back a little on Saturday because I'm of the opinion the players are doing what Mancini has asked of them. It's hard to chastise the players for slowing the pace, playing keep ball, passing sideways and backwards etc when you get the distinct impression they've been asked to do exactly that by the manager.

For me there was one main reason we failed to beat Birmingham, and it was Mancini's tactics.

look,we don,t like losing or drawing but we are here for the long trip.I can still remember being with my dad Cup Winners Cup Semi Final at Maine Road and about to go out and praying we,d get through. My dad passed but mine and his love for the Blues goes on.Oh bye the way it was Chelsea.

Those who boo are a disgrace to the football club.

If you don't like it then don't come. It's as simple as that. I was absolutely embarassed by our support on Saturday.

I was frustrated just like the rest of us but that doesn't mean that im going to boo the team. If anything the players need us to get behind them when they're struggling on the pitch. Sometimes the players need liftin. I consider this to be one of the roles we have as fans to SUPPORT the team.

What's worse than fans who sing then boo is those fans who sit there silent just waiting for a chance to criticise and boo the team. It is those people who are an absolute fucking disgrace. They are a detriment to our team and potentially a reason why we didnt win.

Maybe, these kind of people like failure. But i certainly prefer winning. As the OP how the fuck can booing achieve anything other than making matters worse.

Booing your own team while they are still fighting to win a game is one of the worst things you can do as a fan. Those who booed make me fucking sick.

You are a disgrace to the football club and can never call yourselves SUPPORTERS.

I have been wondering about the boo boys all weekend and then I noticed at the end of the chelsea match a large portion of their fans booed and then it dawned on me; We have now attracted band wagon type wankers who behave the same way other plastic fans up and down the country behave when they don't get what they think they are entitled to.

Absolute dog tossers; who have no place at a football match because by definition, we are supporters and if you boo, then you are not a real supporter. And don't give me this I pay my money crap, because, let's face it, our owners don't need your money. The team do need your support though.

I am sorry that this comment isn’t very eloquent but I am really struggling to type this, due to anger.

I think we can conclusively say booing cannot possibly help in any way.

A complete lack of atmosphere in the stadium is frustrating but understandable. What is there to sing about? And by all means sit there and have a whinge if needs be, but for God's sake please stop this booing nonsense.

I wouldn't imagine those who booed were doing so in an attempt to lift the players. It was an attempt to voice their displeasure at what they were witnessing, specifically the introduction of Barry for Tevez. I'm not a booer myself, but I can understand the sentiments after a display like Saturdays.

as supporters we can contribute, making a noise and backing the players helps the team - its pretty simple

so why would anyone who says they support the team, boo? you are jeopardising the very reason you are there - baffles me

Booing manager and players.

Cons:
- Applies pressure on the manager and players, possibly causing the latter to make mistakes in the game.
- Feeds the media fresh ammunition in their agenda against us.
- Potentially makes the owners consider uprooting the management side of the club again, thus hitting the reset button on another 12 months.

Pros:
- Feeds their fickle, wanky egos. Stay at home if you don't like it.

I'm going to play devils advocate with this one. If you genuinely believed the club was going in the wrong direction should you do nothing or do something? i.e. If something/someone you love was cocking up. Do you just let it happen or attempt to intervene?

Well lets see, do you have £1 billion to invest in the club?

It helps to identify the knobheads
There were over 30,000 of those there on Saturday then. Because nearly everyone booed that decision to replace Tevez with Barry.
Bollocks, more like 15,000, the majority of people around me were embarrassed by all the booing morons feeding the media with yet more ammunition to try and damage OUR club.

Don't talk shite, people pay money and show approval by cheering so why not show disapproval by booing.Unfortunately MCFC wont let me in the changing room after a game so i haven't really got another way of letting players know what i think. I wasn't actually booing on Sat but i wouldn't have had a go at anyone that was.
