Mad how it goes sitting on the bench since Johnson came to club left for bit part of the game. SWP must of thought he hasnt got a chance but look at Capellos squad he has so far picked Heskey , SWP and Carrick and none of those 3 have been starting as many games as others left out.
I didnt think AJ or SWP would of went to be honest as he would get better from other options that he has compared to what he gets from AJ and SWP. Barry is a huge risk for Capello if he goes he is 1 missed time tackle away from a sitting out the World Cup. I would of thought that would of ruled him out and with Parker and Huddlestone able to fill in I am surprised that Parker never got a look in in the last 2 games.
Ere, ere... Shame about AJ, but he's time will come. Made up about Seany though, even though he's not had his best season for us, he's done well for England and offers miles more than Walcott.
Johnson has been very good for us so far, no doubt, but in the big games you have to say, apart from Villa, he was pretty ineffective, so there's a question mark there.
SWP has more experience, speed, and is also better defensively.
So Capello is going to expect SWP to play on the left if he plays at all when AJ is a miles better bet there
This is bad management pure and simple. Despite watching loads of games and playing loads of friendlies he hasn't worked out that AJ beats SWP hands down on the left wing
Pleased for SWP, but this doesn't make sense.
Lennon is the best option England has on the right, but if you want a left winger you'd choose AJ every time over SWP
