How to bulk up?

£43.99 for 2.25kg on Amazon?!

Try the chocolate Nutrisport, far better taste and more consistent. The reason the taste does change is apparently because they are constantly sourcing suppliers to keep the cost down.

Superfit currently doing lowest price i believe. Will send you a PM later as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions, interesting reading that link DH.

It's the toss-up between value for money/taste/nutrition that I'm trying to eke out the best product. With the extra food as well, this can be an expensive hobby. Especially when saving for next year's season ticket too!

Stick to it riot dont be too disheartened. You save money on other things like going out, drink as you concentrate on the gym. My tub lasted me months as you only need 1/2 scoops a day. Its not like the 6 times a day 5KG ones.

All said and done mate there isn't a great deal of difference between most powders, there is no necessity whatsoever to use them anyway, a good all round diet trumps it any day of the week, quite a few lads I know and who compete don't use powders at all, just a carb/protein rich meal within an hour of finishing training (there are also studies which show you only need a small amount of protein/carbs pwo to promote maximum protein synthesis anyway, that's around one scoop, but obviously supps companies would have you believe different as it would then work out 2/3x times more business/profit for them :-)).
Just go with the best you can afford if you prefer it though, my own personal view is much like yours, as I see it, unless you are an elite athlete ( and you'd get it free anyway) no point putting in Formula 1 fuel in your Ford Fiesta.

If I was to start using these powders do you still carry on eating the same way?

I'm thinking of buying some only because I don't have a clue what to eat to do the job.

It isn't neccesary mate, but it's convenient for most and I still use post workout despite my comments above.

As for what you eat mate, would really need to know what your current diet meal plan is, training and goals (i'll assume given the thread you want to gain muscular bodyweight ?), but failing this it's just a question of tidying up your diet (ie getting rid of the crap) and basing your meals around lean meats and fish, carbohydrates, like sweet potatoes, rice, pasta (preferably wholemeal) some good fats like eggs, nuts and oily fish, pulses and veg, especially fibrous veg, some fruit too.

Just try and slowly build up to increasing your food intake over time mate, the basic principle really is if you're 9 stone you are eating like a 9 stone man, if you want to be 13 stone, you have to eat like a 13 stone man, but you do need to build it up slowly bud.

Well i'm 13stone but want to get rid of fat and build muscle at the same time.
I've been doing mostly weights with a 10 minute warm up on the bike or cross trainer.
I usually go for a workout in my lunch hour as I work around the corner from the Gym.
Some Saturday or Sunday mornings as well.

The problem is I don't get to sit down and have a decent lunch I usually eat an apple and some nuts or a yogurt at my desk.

I can't eat sea food or dairy products, that's why I was thinking these shakes might be a good idea.

I gave up smoking a month ago so been eating loads of shit!!!

First off mate whey is a derivitive of cheese, are you ok with soya or a pea based protein ?

Yes. Cheese/dairy products don't do anything to me I just can't stomach any of it!!
