How to bulk up?

still going, still enjoying it....
not read the (holy grail) thread for a while and thoroughly enjoyed having a brew reading the last 6 or 7 pages...some of the advice is obviously inspiring people to start back or even start at all...
i logged on to ask a question though really, ive been off work this week and not started eating until 10.30ish(usually ive eaten twice by then) and going to bed quite late. the last 3 days ive had runny shits (apologies if your eating), not lots of em, just one a day but it feels as though they are ridding me off all the good food im putting in..been feeling lazy and lethargic as well...is it because ive changed my body clock and eating pattern? i ask this quite embarassing question because the last time i attempted to gain weight i ended up constipated and stopped using my protein shakes..this time ive gone the other way..lol. ive been to the gym this week but must say not 100% due to feeling yuk....

or is it just simply i havent cooked something properly or got another little bug? haha.... coz i havent had a take away in a month)which is amazing i was a twice a week man !!)
 
It could be any one of those or a combination to be honest Jacko, FI's Mrs is a nutritionist iirc so he may well have a better and more thorough explanation of the probable cause, but, just be aware that whey can do that to some people (ie me), especially if I drink it first thing or there's a bit of a gap food-wise and I've drank it on an emptyish stomach, goes right through me.

ta, yea it seems although i am eating more, i am also putting a lot more liquids in me and do piss more than before....maybe too much fibre even? if im the same tomorrow im getting some immodium...lol
 
I think its your body adjusting to the change but `arry is right get a second opinion from the experts. Training I can help you with but I am not qualified to give you 100% answers on how you react to it. You know your body best so if its anything giving you reason to be worried have someone look at it.

I get a similiar reaction when I start on a new protein shake or when I am bulking so eat more than usual. It does not last more than a few days though.

i would be worried if it continued after 3 days which it will do tomorrow....so fingers crossed it sorts its self out. been training for a month now and my digestive system has been great apart from this week
 
More than likely just a tummy bug Jacko,however,as the lads have suggested,Whey,and particularly certain brands dependant on your personal tolerance,can also be responsible.

What brand powders are you using?

Are you also eating alot of fruit?
 
EMF nutrition protien powder and a golds gym sports recovery one as well.
im eating 2 pieces of fruit a day, ive made that mistake before where i ate far too much fruit in the space of 2 days and........
its hopefully nothing, ill see in a day or two.

Looking at the nutritional profile of the EMF brand(i've never heard of them) but it looks pretty good....

How much are you drinking a day and are you drinking with water or milk?

2 shakes per day with full fat milk mate

There could be the culprit(Lactose can be a twat and fooks with digestion)try with water,especially if you are drinking milk at other times.

I'm not a fan of milk at all,a pint lasts me a week.....
