How was your trip

Didn't want to add this to the last post and i wish i could start a new thread for it. Just want to say a massive thanks to Mac for sorting our transport out from Calella to The Nou Camp.
He organised a coach from Pineda/Calella to take people to Barca early doors with a return but due to late flights and health issues, he also arranged a minibus to first of all take my lad, Brother in law and two mates into Las Ramblas around half two. He came back to Calella then drove down again about half five with a couple of blokes with mobility problems and got them as close to Gate 21 as he could.
Directly after the match, he was waiting at the same place to get all six back to Calella.
A fantastic guy who even missed the match due to the Spanish Authorities taking the piss regarding a permit with the coach.
Cheers Mac (and Linda) and if we get Barca again next year, you'll be getting a PM from us.
Thanks again.

I never hear of any trouble with the Barca fans and Blues.Would that be correct and I`m not on about the odd skirmish, but we`ve heard of tales on Blue Moon from supporters who travel to Italy and Spain and we`ve had the police charging into our fans with batons.
So,was it a great night in that respect with no major fans and police bust ups ?

No trouble but there were a minority of City fans happy throwing coins, empty miniature bottles of spirits and whatever they can find over the net into the Barca fans end - pathetic if you ask me

We were kept behind for about 40 minutes though

I wonder why? Act like scum get treated like scum I guess. Minority of dickheads spoiling it for the well behaved majority as usual and spoiling our name in Europe. I think City need to act now. You should only be allowed in with a ticket with your name printed on it and on production of a passport. I refuse to believe that some of these scumbags can apply for tickets in their own right.

Great pictures, keep them coming.

Re: How was 9your trip

Fantastic trip been twice now, neVer again.. Got home last night via munich longest day of my life.. Good job im off work today . Never drinking again ohh yeh West Brom tomoz maybe 1 or 2 then

Great trip albeit bloody windy and cold at 10,000 feet in block 532. Good atmosphere in the square in the afternoon and, as others have said, Gary Owen and Tommy Booth were both fantastic. The lads that 'penned' and sang the song to Tommy and Gary were on the next table to us in the restaurant, God knows when and how they dreamed it up but it was bloody funny.
Apart from a few young lads behaving like knobheads on the metro (as young lads do) I didn't see any trouble. You could see stuff being thrown but it looked like bits of bread, still not acceptable, and if there were coins being thrown that probably explains the lock-in, which didn't happen last year. Against that, there were some lads dressed in Barca 'onesies' at the metro station after the match and City fans were having a laugh and photos with them. Also a very young kid on the tram with his dad who initially looked a bit concerned when he was approached by some City fans only for them to give him a couple of City badges which I thought was really good.

Arrived on Tuesday at about 1600 - Met Squirtyflower in the main square. Heard about what some of the Bars were charging for a drink (Yes I could have got cans from the outdoor). Found a small tapas bar around the corner. Quick bite to it. Afterwards headed to the Manchester Bar of all names. 1e for a bottle of San Miguel, happy days. Good mix of Blues and Locals in there. Great evening. Afterwards bit more Tapas/Beer in another bar whilst watching the end of the Atletico Madrid game. Day of the game arrive. Off to the beach area, lot quieter than last year. Bit of lunch of Las Ramblas then back to the square. Spirits were high with no trouble at all. Yet it needed just one flash point and the police who were at all the entrances would have no doubt stormed in. Left there than got the Metro to Las Corts. As we came out of the metro we were advised by the police to go to another road as for some Barca fans we were not welcome in that particular area. Few drinks in a bar and happened to be sat with the lads we had met in the Manchester Bar the night before (Good lads if one of you are reading this). Once inside the ground, sat up in the clouds watching ants play football. A small minority thought it would be good to throw the odd coin over. Pathetic and uncalled for. Kept in for over 40 mins. Apart from the result and the coin throwing the whole day for me was spoilt on how we were treated. Kept in, and in a way forced marched past the line of coppers. All in Black, No id numbers showing and faces covered up. Intimidating and un called for. Done Barca away twice now. Doubt i will do it again. Then agin, ask me next season

Sadly it wasn't bread. I saw this large object sail over the net and hit a guy on the back of the head. He must have been 65 if not older. He was lead away with blood pouring from his head.
Wankers that think throwing objects at random fans are wankers of the biggest sort. Coins, lighters anything the cowards had to throw they did. we can call the riot cops all the names you want but thet respond to what they see.
I moaned last year about the net, now I know why it is there. It is not an over reaction to say I was ashamed to be a city fan - 65-70 year old bloke just watching a match poor poor bloke.
