How would you describe your relationship with London?

It's a pity that so much of the cultural side of things (that the whole UK pays for) is kept down there though. Some of it, at least, should be somewhere more central. Like Wembley should have been, in fact.

Whilst i'm not a great fan of the area around Wembley and particularly the difficulty of getting there (even if you live in London), i've never understood the argument for building the national stadium anywhere other than the capital. It's the only place where a stadium of that size would attract the crowds it does on a regular basis.

Terrific place. Go for work quite often and still get a frisson of excitement as I get there. Not sure why, but I do.
I love going to it and spending a day or two there but, perversely, I love leaving it as well. Probably not appreciated by the perceived native rivalries prevalent throughout the UK, but I think it's a great city that easily rivals New York, Barcelona, Berlin and Paris and am glad it's 'ours'.

its a completely different world compared to manchester. its good for touristy stuff, but full of rags and way to expensive

A constant visitor over the last 11 years - had a bit of work out today, I've been bouncing backwards and forwards on Bransons tilting train during that time on a near weekly basis - worked it out at about 170,000 miles going backwards and forwards between Stockport and Euston :-(

The centre is now a bit meh for me, tourists wind me up with their cameras and fucking stopping and staring ("its a fucking big clock for crying out loud" is all you'll hear me mutter as I trudge through parliament square on the way to/from work) - I've been in and out of nearly 70 tube stations over the same period - I've reached the point where I know where to stand on a platform so as to arrive at the optimal spot at my destination - very sad but really hand. Still a sh*thole. And I was born there.

One of the world's great cities and as such is full of every example of humankind. Expensive? Sure, show me a capital city that isn't. Love it and loath it in equal measure but it doesn't stop me enjoying it. When you find a hidden bar, a back street restaurant, a place of interest, that's what makes it great.

It can certainly get a bit full on, and I doubt i'll stay here forever, but the past 4/5 years have been a blast for me. Accommodation is either small or very expensive, but I live in a nice part of London and feel like I'm right next to everything I could need for the day to day. My commute is either a 25 minute walk, 10 minute bus or 5 minute bike ride too. No-one should spend 2+ hours of their day commuting wherever you are.

Main thing though is the work. I couldn't do it anywhere else in the UK, the only other options for me are other major cities. London is a creative powerhouse and it gets all of the best work, and generally speaking there is quite a bit of it to go around. That's something I hope will change in the future as I'd love the option of moving around a little bit, but until it does, or until I feel too old for it, I'll be staying here. Even if that changes I doubt Manchester will be my next destination, even if the price of a pint was my only criteria.

If there was a button to wipe the shithole from the face of the earth I would press it in an instance ;0)
