Howard Webb to Ref Newcastle Game

I don't think Webb is biased at all but using the fact he gave us a penalty at Spurs in the last minute is hardly evidence of this. He had to give the penalty, it was a stone-waller and even if that was at OT in the last minute for some small club like Wigan he would have given it.

Are we really S*n?

HOWARD WEBB will referee Manchester City’s date with destiny at Newcastle on Sunday.

And that has got City fans fuming.

The South Yorkshire official has a long-standing reputation with them for favouring arch-rivals Manchester United.

Webb landed Mario Balotelli in bother by claiming he had not seen his stamp on Scott Parker in January and gave United two penalties as they came from 3-0 down to draw at Chelsea in February.

Kevin Parker, secretary of the City supporters club, declared: “History tells us he has generally favoured United. City fans do feel that.

“We’ll just have to hope that isn’t reflected on Sunday as it’s such a huge day for Manchester City.”

fantastic, IMO. The more the week goes on saying Webb is anti-City/pro-United, the professional and human being in him won't give us harsh decisions. Keep it up, media.

I'm happy.

Anybody is better than Mason. If we had him I would be slightly worried, because he breaks up games by giving away free kicks too often and not playing advantages. Webb is at least a very competent official and able to let a game flow without allowing people to be kicked all over the pitch.
