People complaining about tv channels they never watch , have a word ,this is the queens consort and family man who has done great things with his role
I think you'll find the nation isn't being told it's in mourning. Rather its a moment of remembering and acknowledging a great servant of our nation. The nation is being told it is in mourning, so we must mourn, there can't be any frivolous distraction from our collective mourning, that would be disrespectful.
This is the nation drawing the parlour curtains. The establishment is telling us, all of us, to mourn.
at least we still have some traditions and standards to respect.

Like him or loathe him, the fella put in a shift.
You are not being made to do anythingAh! We're not being told to mourn, we're being told to reflect.
Thanks for that.
To be fair he's been the Queens consort since 1952 serve during WW2 I pretty sure a night missing BBC's usual coverage ain't going to break your heart to much. Not sure blanket coverage of the same broadcast over 4 bbc channels and all of it's radio channels is actually tradition.
Can inderstand BBC one, BBC parliament and BBCnews24 doing it and 5live, but to completely close down BBC4 and the red button and having no radio stations as normall is a bit much tbf.
The mqn need to have his tribute and rememberance for his service to his wife, family and country, but the beeb as per, read it wrong as whether the whole natopn wanta to watch it on every channel and are getting a lot of criticism they could have avoided
