HRH Prince Philip - Passed Away

Heard on the radio today that the "opinion of Palace insiders " was that he was unsuitable for the Queen and was probably likely to be unfaithful - bit of casual anti-Greek stereotyping there perhaps? Anyway she went ahead and married him.
Then in an interview he said despite all the requirements of his role he always tried to be at home for the kids school holidays.
As you say married a long time, a family man and faithful to the end.

He didn't actually have any Greek heritage. His family thought of themselves as German and Danish.

To be fair he's been the Queens consort since 1952 serve during WW2 I pretty sure a night all of the day and probably as long as they can drag it out, say a few days*. Missing BBC's usual coverage ain't going to break your heart to much.

Glad it wasn't just me then!

Heard it on someone's else's radio for about 20 minutes on a talk radio station. Fair enough it's a talk radio station.

Got back to the workshop and they wouldn't stop talking about it on Virgin Radio plus playing god awful 'sad' songs.. changed to Radio 1 as I thought that would be a safe bet. Nope more talking like I was listening to a dreary BBC 4 programme.

Was getting desperate so went for Capital and even they were playing sad songs. It was real barrel scraping time but I finally found some normality in 'KISStory'...

Also no Dance Anthems on Radio 1 back in the car. That's sacrilege not having that as an option on a Friday evening.
