Huddersfield (H) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Great to see 5 academy lads involved today. Lewis, I thought, was pretty underwhelming, but the others didn't disgrace themselves (not saying Lewis did, by the way). Bobb impresses more and more every time I see him. He has the potential to go far.
Not seeing it with Lewis at the moment, but Bobb is going to be exceptional, if Pep lets him play his game!

Job done, some good performances too after that frustrating opening half hour, though the result was never in doubt.

Brilliant from Foden, and so good to see Kev and Doku back. Hope Akanji is ok though.

I watched it on my phone in Tenerife on a few streams as I had to switch at times when one went down. Some of the commentators were as dreadful as anything we hear on sky or the mainstream channels. On one they constantly referenced their keeper was in the Wigan squad which beat us in the final, in spite of him not even making the bench that day.
Predictable game, defence against attack, thankfully we found a way through the masses ranks of thugs. Dirty fuckers to say the least. Kev coming back, oh how we've missed him! His touch, vision, calmness and ability to see a pass, what a player. Good to see Doku back too.
Only negative was even though they attacked very little they created two good chances just from lumping it long, Dias easily beaten both times.
Onwards and upwards, let's put a winning run together now for the rest of the season.

Dias continuing his poor defensive form. Trying to block a player from the ball and let him in one on one with Ortega who made a good save. Then easily beaten by the player cutting in near the byline, shooting and Ortega saving well again.

Noice. And on we go.

Huddersfield looked so far out of their depth it was scary.

Cup game of titans vs "made to look like a pub team" make-weights.

SMASHED 'EM! As to be expected but still we did it, with little difficulty. They chased and made the scoreline close for a bit but predictably tired. So, decent effort from them, which is to be commended, but I've got to say that the ref let far too many VERY naughty challenges go today IMO. Allowed them to stretch the boundaries of "committed and competitive" which crossed the line on far too many occasions for my liking. 100% endangering the opposition stuff. Needed clamping down on for safety reasons.

I reckon the commentator's had been given a heads up about the officiating instructions prior to the game as they were a bit too quick with their explanations as to why the early horror "challenges" were to be allowed "today". Probably wanted a bloodbath in an attempt to counter the imminent return of Kev, Doku and Haaland. Bastards! Hope Akanji's OK.
