No I'm saying that he signed players he was ablle to sign and one's that he believed were better than what we had and thus far that is being proven. All I am saying is that he maybe didn't and wouldn't be able to get first choice targets ala Terry that we could undoubtedly afford.

We can only get those players once we have made the step into the Champions league so to expect us to be competing with Chelsea Manu U and Arsenal is unrealistic
i dont expect to be competing with them but maybe beating one of the last four teams we have played is not too over optimistic
We not allowed to have a dip in form now or to play shit in a few games and look where we are in the league, all these people moaning slagin hughes tell us where we should be now in the league and what position you think we should finish.

Ottmar Hitzfeld - Did well with Bayern but will end his days on the International management stage.
Guus Hiddink - Good choice, personally would prefer someone younger though.
Giovanni Trapattoni - Same as Lippi.
Luiz Felipe Scolari - Risky, didn't live upto the hype at Chelski.
Marcello Lippi - Again, age against him, but not ability.
Jose Mourinho - Would take a lot to prise him away from Inter, but best on the list.
Johan Cruyff - Don't think he wants to return to full time management as per the Ajax situation last year and has the Catalonia job.
Carlo Ancelotti - Won't leave Chelski.
Sven........ - Howard Kendall mark II

and you've spoken to them all about the job have you?

Neither you or I have any idea if they would be interested in managing the richest club in the world, which is why your insistence that people who don't think Hughes is up to it must suggest a replacement was and is daft. There are many more names that could be added to the list I submitted. There are plenty of candidates but only someone offering them the job would know if they were interested.

It's my opinion looking at their current status and past record. Course i don't know who would want any available job or not, i'm not Max Clifford, i'm a gadgie from Audenshaw! I don't believe it was daft for replacements to be suggested. It took the thread into a new direction rather than have the same points repeated over and over again, not a healthy environment for debate, will just lead to arguments and personal digs. If people are 100% disgruntled with the job he is doing, then you need to have a plan as the only path the previous point leads to is the want for him to be sacked. Cut me some slack mate fucking hell, tried to lighten it up with you and you have pissed all over it again.

Anyone else think the more Hughes works with players, the worse they get. The more he imposes himself on this side the worse they get. We started the season in good fashion but as Hughes gets his ways accross they get worse.

Last season started OK with a few wins and god performances and we were in the bottom three at Xmas. Signed a few players in January and the form picked up a bit only for us to finish with a wimper.

Ive heard Houllier wants back into football, look what he did at Lyon. Mourinho would come, in fact most managers would come because we are a mouth watering prospect for any ambitious person.

Hughes Out

The money's gone to a lot of the fans heads it seems, the target for this season was/is top 6, which we currently are with a game in hand + we're the only team to have lost only one game (which shouldn't have been a loss) and we're in the quarter finals of the Carling Cup. We had a good start to the season and clueless muppet fans got giddy, "we're gonna win the league", and all that bollocks.

He's finally got his side together and it still needs time to gel, we've had loads of injuries so far which has meant a lot of chopping and changing and we've improved on nearly every result from last year. This is our bad patch and we're still getting points so open your eyes and see what actually is happening, get behind the team and the manager.

We played 11 league games, only 3 of those teams are in the top half. You think this is a bad run now. If we keep performing like this when we the other 6 top half teams then i think you should brace yourselves. 5 draws would look attractive then.

This isnt the first run of bad results under Hughes, have you forgotten most of last season? 5 draws, and in only one game could you argue we should of won, and even then against Fulham we werent excactly brilliant.

I wouldnt mind 5 draws if we had put n 5 good performances, solid at the back, nice passing football and created lots of chances. But we havnt, we been shit. Its difficult to turn things around when you aint playing well. A couple of defeats and its 1 win in 10...

Hughes Out

this.

we need a manager who has won something as a manager, no need to take a risk.

selections, tactics, formation, substitutions, defending etc are all awful.

post of the day.

The fact is virtually every poster on here agreed that Hughes made some excellent signings, players with true PL pedigree. They were already proven.

All that had to happen then was for the manager to prove himself. He is failing and it is wrong to now blame the players that we all were delighted to get.
