Hughes OUT

I'm still in the Hughes In camp

Remember that no matter what we paid for them, these players are still getting to know each other and a lot of the first team are new to the club and the manager.

New teams don't gel overnight - we should also remember that teams are playing against City immediately rasing their game and seeing us as a major scalp.

We've done the rebuilding and we are only a few tweaks away from having a very solid team.

So far this season we have competed in every game, lost one all season and managed to achieve a level of consistency.

The foundations are in place... be patient and wait for the improvements in line with our expectations. Sacking the manager will only set us back.

I've seen enough in Hughes to know that he has what it takes to get us up to that next level, it just isn't going to happen overnight and probably not this season but once we have a settled squad we'll be a force to be reckoned with.

tbh ive been hughes in all this season and never doubted him. i thought 6 consecutive draws were just a blip, but after today you have to think what is really going on behind closed doors.

we've conceded i think its 3 penaltys within 4 games now and although we can blame to ref, we still shouldnt be put in situations where it can be considered a penalty especially against the likes of hull. I think the chairman needs a serious re-think about where he wants city to be going this season, and with a very competative league this year its obvious that we need to step up and start playing as a team rather than each indivitual player trying to do their own thing.

Anyone who has spent over £200 million on a club and doesn't get results against teams where we need the points is a serious doubt in my mind, and although we can blame the players ultimatley its the manager who bought them and it will always come down to the manager. I would consider taking a serious punt at a new manager with experience at the top level.

I'm the same way, was always pro Hughes until this day. I cant believe what I'm seeing and think it's time for a change.

Reasons..

I would love to come on and say that I'm staying positive and that there's still good things to take out of today, but there isn't. Nothing good can come out of today, it was simply dreadful.

Firstly, there's no point blaming the penalty decision or the ref, or Bullard or anyone else. It's our fault for being complacent YET AGAIN.

We play these 'easy to beat teams' like they are simply gonna' give us 3 points, when if anything they're just gonna' raise their game, which has happened in the previous few games at home and we've paid the price for it.

Whether or not Robby and Ade had knocks or not doesn't really matter, because regardless, our defence isn't good enough and if (and it it's a decent possibly) we concede, there is little on the pitch that is gonna' snatch 3 points for us.

We didn't create anywhere near enough clear cut chances to say we deserved the win and teams like Hull will happily feed off scraps that we give them if it means them snatching something, like Fulham and Burnley previously.

Our attacking players simply go missing early in the second half, barring maybe Robinho, who always looked keen to get on the ball, as for Ireland, Adebayor, SWP and Tevez, they basically dissappeared leaving us with little chance of killing off the game and getting a second.

We have to stop acting like this rubbish is good enough and start facing up to the fact that right now we're not good enough in the slightest. Nobody looks confident and it wasn't that suprising that after a game in which Hull created nothing, we gift them the chance to equalise with a stupid foul in the box. Bellamy didn't get into the game, and Santa Cruz looked woeful. People will complain but you can't defend the way our team played today or in the previous few games (barring maybe Liverpool).

I'm sure I'll get a lot of abuse but it's all true and until we start to realise that teams won't just roll over and die for us we'll continue to drop points.

I've officially joined the 'Hughes Out' brigade now, sorry.

Could you please detail what you have seen as I must have missed it?

Pains me to say this, i was a huge fan of Hughes. Thought he was the man to take us on to better things, but either the players dont listen to him or he isnt getting the right message across. Either way thats the managers fault, two strikers who are never in the box. Richards GTFO of my club pls. i just think now is the time to look at who is about and see if any good option arise, I can see us struggle against arsenal. I fear the worst for the chelsea game, maybe its time to face facts. Get a new guy in before teh Jan transfer window let him get the one or two players we need and move on from a hopeless style of hit and hope football.

I just dont see how anyone with the club at heart would want to keep Agent Les.

For 7th week running we are hoping other teams dont win or draw to stop us losing ground or slipping down the table.

I do not want to hear the we need time to gell excuse. Last year we accepted the poor season as Hughes bought a load of players and he said that they will take time to get used to how to play with each other. This summer, he spent an amazing figure on buying proven premierleague players and said they would know how to get results. Hence not going for players from different leagues.

Now next summer if he goes on another spending spree, will we have to wait till the year after until those new players have gelled. Its a viscious cycle but to me Hughes is the weak link.

lets get rid...whats the worse that could happen?....
at least he wont waste any more money
but who?

I just hope they dont give him more money in January cause hes fucking wasted what he was given (apart from Given)

Tactics ?

The best teams in Europe have fine managers . In England whatever we may think of the likes of Ferguson,O'Neill,Rednapp ,Wenger they are a damn site better than Mark Hughes.Draws are not an improvement ,what will happen in our next games against Chelsea and Spurs ?

We think we are better than last year but only in the names on the teamsheet.

Just thought with my first post I'd start a little game called:

NAME A MANAGER THAT WOULD BE DOING BETTER THAN MARK HUGHES WITH THIS SQUAD?

I'll kick off with The Rotting Corpse of Alan Ball

The reason the defence is so bad is GIVEN Great shot stopper but dreadful kicking always comes back and not caught a cross again today for yet another match. No wonder the defence is shaky with him in front of it. The penalty came after a dreadful kick by him straight into touch. Great shot stopper but too many poor areas of his play.
