Hughes reveals contract talks

Second best home record in the league

Sixth best actually. Rags, Scousers, Fulham, Arsenal, Chelsea all have more points at home.

if theyre gonna keep him this summer its a good move to silence any doubts agents/players may have about ADUG's commitment to him.

what's the down side again? oh, it might cost us more if we then got rid of him. really not a factor is it.

Stability is required and I think Hughes needs formal reassurance if only to keep the press pack at bay. He should see us into the top six next season, which will be a battle between us, Spurs, Everton, and Villa, while the following season will be the true test of his abilities and credentials.

If people do have doubts about coming to City with Hughes as manager, or staying at City with Hughes as manager (not saying this is the case) this is hardly going to ease them.

If this is all the shut the press up it's hardly worth it IMO.

At first I thought that this has to be a joke somebody at sky got the April fool joke out very early.

But the only reason for this irrational behaviour by the AUG, you'd have to say it a motivational tool to try and get more out Hughes for the remainder of the season and UEFA by dangling the carrot in front of him. As we all know Frank was the opposite last season and prefferd the beating with the stick by using the threat of sack had the opposite effect.

IMO opion I think regardless of all ther best intentions MH is gonna be gone come the end of the season.

he's planning to trim our squad by getting rid of names like Darius Vassell and Tal Ben-Haim. This can only be good. To be fair to Hughes he's come to a team where the squad hasn't been the way he's wanted. Next seasons gonna be the real deal. ctid.

Im quite releaved actually, don't get me wrong, I have slated him in the past like really slated him. I can't help but feel that this is a step in the right direction though, if he gets signed up it can put and end to people complaining about him and let the team focus on football more rather than their manager. Also it will prevent us being in the same poisition next season with a new manager, let him have his own squad and we will be sorted.

Its no use burying your head in the sand thinking that signing another piece of paper is not gonna make one jot of differance. If he doesn't start delivering results he's gone end of.
