Hughes to Stay - Gutless Players to Go

Re: HUGHES TO STAY SHIT GUTLESS PLAYERS TO GO

I think we are missing Petrov badly. Without him on our l wing, we don't seem to have the same threat going forward

Hughes picks the team (so we are lead to believe).
Hughes picks the tactics (long ball, when there`s only one man up front).
Hughes decides on the formation (Fernandes at left wing).
Hughes decides on the substitutions (Hamman for Fernandes when he should be looking at Garrido for some width)
Hughes is ultimatley responsible, as he is the boss.

1 . He picks players hes inherited
2. we dont play long ball
3. thats a worry that one
4. Like Blackburn you mean
5. yes he is... but surely he can only be judged on HIS own team ???
You lost me on number 2 "We don't play the long ball" lol - next time you are at the game just look at the back 4 when Hart has the ball. I'll bet youu 100 times out of 100 not one of the back four is looking at Hart. They are expecting the ball to be punted, hoofed, wellied, blarted right over their heads, almost always losing possession. Are you telling me thats not the long ball??

Re: HUGHES TO STAY SHIT GUTLESS PLAYERS TO GO

Vinny, well said, can I call you the voice of reason pal?! What today highlighted
is how many of the players inherited by Hughes have to go, and let him bring
in more players of the calibre of Wayne Bridge, I for one would be gutted to see
some of those experienced players stay whilst Hughes is made scapegoat. I'd
also add that no matter how dire a performance, we, the crowd, are there to
support em (we cant believe for one second players play badly on purpose otherwise
we might as well all pack up and go now) even when things are going drastically
wrong (as happened today) . I'm not saying the crowd were bad, just too quiet,
and all's we helped do was lift the forest team and the voiciferous travelling
support. Supporting the team might not necessarily have changed the result, but
we are the home team and if more of us got behind em more often, we might get
more of out of em. Just my opinion anyway. See you at Pompey.......

we do not play long ball tactics...yes Hart hoofs it and so does Dunne.... but in the main we dont play the long ball game... i think it was FAT SAM who said when Arsenal or United do it its a Long Pass but when Notlob do it it was the Long Ball !!!!

Re: HUGHES TO STAY SHIT GUTLESS PLAYERS TO GO

Although I want Hughes to stay and hopefully become a success I can't understand the need many of you feel to absolve him off all blame. Fair enough he has inherited some shit but his tactics and substitutions leave a lot to be desired. Why, in a cup game, sub a defensive midfielder like for like and the do the same for Caicedo and Jo? We should have really been gunning for it and sacrificed the midfielder or a defensive player for a more attacking option / formation.

I feel that I, and many others, may be victims of the way the media is constantly spouting a brainwashing view that Hughes is an undoubtedly talented manager. I am yet to see it for City although I do agree his signings have been good so far.

Onwards and upwards I hope but am still reserving my judgment 'til the end of the season.

Mid term review: Has potential but MUST do better!

And how much more money does he get - he's probably spent more than the entire Blackburn team was worth

1. He isn`t doing a good job in picking the team, whether it`s what he has inherited or bought. There are too many people noticing that he doesn`t play the right players in the right positions.
2. "We don`t play long ball".......can you tell that to Hart, Richards, Dunne and Ball who seem to bypass our midfield.
3. Formation.......Micah at left back a few months back.....enough said.
4. So Sturridge at Blackburn worked, but Fernandes to right back against Liverpool when winning is a classic Hughes cock-up. I think you`ll find overall his substitutions don`t have match changing significance in a favourable way.
5. He is ultimatley responsible whether or not he has bought the players. You can not have XI new players every time a new manager arrives at any club.
