Hull (a) Post Match Thread

Like the time we headed into the final game of the season needing three points for the title and we found ourselves 2-1 down against relegation candidates QPR going into stoppage time?

Or the time we thrashed Blackpool 3-2 with a late winner from Silva?

What about that same season where we drew 0-0 with Birmingham?

The 1-0 drubbing in the home game against Blackpool?

Our 2-1 loss against and 4-3 destruction of a Wolves team who narrowly avoided relegation?

2-2 against Birmingham?

Our 3-2 thrashing of Bolton?

1-0 against Reading courtesy of a 93rd minute goal from Gareth Barry?

The 0-0 demolition of QPR?

The 1-0 annihilation of Wigan with a Tevez goal in the 83rd minute?

These matches were all against teams who were comparable to Hull as they finished in the bottom three with the exception of Wolves in 2011 and QPR in 2012, both of whom finished in 17th.

I love Mancini for winning the title with us but I stick by what I said previously. He never transformed us into a team who routinely thrashed weak opposition.
It's rare to see an argument destroyed quite so well.

Bobby completely changed the mentality of the club, players, fans AND OPPONENTS.

He restored our pride & identity, rammed the rags back into their box, faced the GPC down live on tv in front of a massive world wide audience.

Bought world class players.....Yaya,David,Kun. Was denied others who would have taken us to the next level....Hazzard,Sanchez,Van PissPot,Javie Martinez,de Rossi.

Beat the rags at Wembers, won the cup & Championship.....oh sick swan & the Vincent 'park the bus derby'.

Thank you Bobby....Forza Mancini.
None of that counters his post though does it, nor is your post untrue. It's just a strange reply.

As much as possible, I try to avoid commenting on the media as I'm never sure if City fans are just overly paranoid on that front. However, I know how often I swear at pundits when I watch a game on TV. Can't say that they got me particularly riled yesterday; although the pair of Redknapp and Henry get up my nose more than coke did Francis Rossi's. The whole Hull didn't deserve the scoreline is probably understandable from a neutral point of view and not something to get offended about; albeit that I think it misses the point that the gap in ability between the sides meant that once City scored, they had the opportunity to be able to more fully exploit that, which they did and, as a consequence, justified the scoreline; far more than Chelsea's win at City had a fair scoreline.

It was a good result even though not a great performance. No point moaning anybody. If it was Utd or Chelsea the press would be wettingthemselves.
Much bigger test to come but so be it

We invited pressure on us in the second half and they still couldn't make it count.

Why is it that we deserve to lose when we can't take our chances but dominate (Chelsea reaction springs to mind) whereas it's really unfortunate when a shite team manages to threaten us for five minutes but then get comfortably beaten?
That is a very good summary of the media narrative regarding City. There are also a few City so called supporters using this.

Just a new years wish for Pep. Take note of this game and FFS ALWAYS PLAY KEV IN THE MIDDLE. That is all.

That was a good win and the atmosphere from our fans was fantastic. They sang from the word go (ok, the whistle go!) right through to the end. I have no voice this morning as I joined in almost every song! Loved it, especially the 'Jingle Bells'. Great Boxing Day fun again, bring on New Year's Eve and that Liverpool lot!!

Thanks lads and lassies for a great away day again.
