I don't get arena gigs

I have been to the MEN once and it was awful and souless

I have been in tents small venues, dance halls, ballrooms, fields and they have all been fantastic

give me the Apollo, Ritz, Ruby Lounge, Yes, BOTW, Albert Hall, night and day, even the old ducie bridge any day over an arena

And many more similar venues in Sheffield, liverpool, leeds, london

cannot see me ever entering the CO-OP one if honest

Does anyone agree?
Yep. Never been in men arena or any others in 40 years of giging. Apollo has to be my fave alongside a lot you mention. The international 3 was fun. Concorde and beachcomber in brighton wete brill but doubt theyre thete now .

I saw Pulps "ahem" last ever gig they were gonna do in Sheffield in 2012 in Sheffield arena, Elbow and Arcade fire seperately at G-Mex and all 3 gigs were great, but then all were standing and I was in a spot in the crowd that was well placed plus they are quite homely in an old fashioned way.

I did use to love the free trade hall as a venue in its day

the last 2 years Vinyl has surpased download for music sales for many bands who could choose smaller but profitable venues.
CD’s also account for more sales than downloads, the latter is a casualty of the many streaming sites out there.

I know Vinyl sales are higher than CD’s but that doesn’t take into account the second hand market where in the past two weeks I’ve bought 22 albums off Music Magpie for £45. Far better value for money than Vinyl where prices are very high. New or classic Vinyl albums can cost between £20 - £35.

Get a decent player and second hand CD’s are a great way to permanently keep all your favourite music, even if you transfer your CD’s to the likes of iTunes for ease of use.

I've never understood comedy in arenas. Having to wait for thousands of people to get the joke before the next one.

I think the lowry is the pefect size for a larger comedy gig, saw Stewart Lee and Jonathan Pie do shows there and crowd wise was probably as big as you wuld want for the reason you state

It's dynamic ticket pricing which is the killer...
Keeping out the real hardcore fans and replacing them with "platinum package twats"

Up the workers..

I saw REM, Radiohead, Kylie and S Club 7 (don't ask..the things you do for love) amongst many others at the Nynex and they were all a lot of fun. Being old fucking sucks, just don't force it on everyone.
S Club 5 tickets for tonight (Sat) are going on resale sites for less than £20 if you wanted to relive the moment?

Don't stop moving until you reach the Etihad, Bring it all back to town for a quick bite/pint after the game, then Reach for a Metrolink ticket to the AO, enjoy the S Club party and then fall asleep on the journey home wondering if you ever had a dream come true?
