I don't like the manager

I think in general when things arent going well footballers look for people to blame. Normally its the manager.

I think its important though that everyone is held accountable for their own performances and there are a few at the club who will be on thin ice when decisions are made on the playing squad.

That goes double for any pkayer giving the club ultimatums over the manager position.

I am sure most if not all the players know that many including themselves have under performed this season to what they know they can.

Notwithstanding injuries and the balance to best accommodate the best eleven week in week out Mancini under performed as well.

Whether the current crop can perform better under a new manager notwithstanding the changes made over the summer to playing staff remains to be seen.

You need strong characters that are up for the battle and what opposing teams throw up at you.

We have seen throughout the year that players who are not necessarily the most talented and most skilled can rise up to the challenge where as others cannot and don't have the right frame of mind and character when things go a little awry.

Nasri himself admitted that his attitude was poor for most of this season.

Mancini while perhaps not explaining it , in such terms was on the money when asked about Nasri.

Little is served when you are critical of individuals every week but its appropriate to give certain players a rev up every now and again.

Tevez said recently having scored the most goals for the side and having the most assists he classed this year as a good one for him but I would prefer less goals and less assists and more points over 38 games anyday and I hope so would Carlos.

The players overall let outside influences get the better of them this year and as Moomba said they need to be accountable as well.

I don't want a team full of classy talented individuals , I want a team full of fighters and never say die that are very difficult to beat and know how to win.

A lot of people on here are stating that Bobby had to go because he upset some of the players by being overly critical.. So fucking what. Some of the players have been absolutely shite this season hence they deserved criticism.

Nasri was hammered by Bobby in the press for his performances, next month he was player of the month.

A manager has every right to be critical of player performances, the pampered pricks should be man enough to deal with it, or else, now I'm going out on a limb here, improve their performance levels and not sulk because the boss shouted at them

Winners can tell players they can turn water into wine, but when yer've tasted it and it tastes of corporation pop the games up!

He's behaved like an idiot for most of this season, criticising all and sundry within the club. And it's cost him his job.

You can't have players like kompany and hart threatening to leave because of you and survive.

This whole season has been one enormous list of disasters for Mancini. The 352. Europe. The league draws. The player criticism. The Marwood/sheikh criticism. The increasingly bizarre press assertations. The friction with txiki. We have had a lot of this shit with him before but his results have kept him in a job.

This year the results weren't there and the bullet became inevitable once the league was lost in the winter.

I will buy the results part DD , not sure about players threatening to leave including the ones you mention.

Would like some quotes to support your assertions re Hart and Kompany.

I don't think his quotes about Nasri having to do better , Dzeko having to do better etc had very much to do with him being shown the door.

I would suggest it had a lot to do with the fact we finished with 3 points in the ECL and finished a distant second in the Premiership that spelt his demise.

If we had of won the Cup on Saturday I very much doubt he would have survived but to suggest his press conferences or his sound bites in the media were a factor DD is drawing a very long bow at best.

We all know he is a poor performer at press conferences etc and I assume no doubt he has been since day 1 of his managerial career even in his native tongue so I assume that the club already knew that before hiring him.

He's gone because of the whole picture. Results, tactics, morale, the way he represents MCFC, his relationships with his superiors, the whole shebang. The club don't see him as the right man to take us forward for many reasons.

There are circumstances, but I can't disagree with any of this

Pfft! Can't think of when I've agreed with you before now!!

However, what you say is correct! Roberto Mancini once said he couldn't understand why a player who is earning tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds a week couldn't work to a system or work hard enough to improve!! What was wrong with that??!

To me, he was thinking as a fan of football and quite possibly an ordinary thinking Human Being!!

FFS! 'Roberto's training top sometimes had stubburn stains' That's the depth of his knowledge.

DD, is there any substance at all to the claim you made about Joe and Vinny wanting to leave because of Mancini?

Let's have it straight.

You say the club don't see him as the right man. What constitutes the club? The business men don't see him as the right man as he ruffled a few feathers, fair enough. That is not the club. Ask the fans who will be chanting his name for the next 2 games who is the right man to take us forward. It certainly won't be Marwood or Kloss.

I had faith that given the right transfer targets, Mancini would have improved us again to be extremely competitive on all fronts.

He is a victim of his own success. He won the league ahead of the "projected curve" set out by the business men. With the investments made versus those made by our competition we were never, ever going to compete on 2 fronts, especially with injuries and under performing stars and Bobby having to constantly fight against the press. I wish him well and hope we don't get Pellegrini in. I just have a gut feeling it won't work

The sooner we get a manager who allows the players to have the afternoon off to play golf, doesn't expect them to be able to adapt to different formations, minds his P's and Q's, is really nice to the kit washer - the nicer the place will be.
