what the hell is really going on here?
I fail to see if the OP has as he claims, been sent such a letter, which I'm not sure has been proven at this stage, but lets say we accept as being correct, why on earth he would want to post on here, claiming to be the victim of some 'crime by association' case, and crying for sympathy and attention.
Ranting and bawling in my experience often shows the type of person involved, and without going on too much about this element, I would have, if asked by such a person, for advice, suggested a quiet and humble approach to our great Club, where I would endeavoured to evoke some feeling of sympathy for oneself or others finding themselves in such an unfortunate situation. This I feel would have been the best approach if reinstatement is what the individual really wants.
On another note, having been in similar scenarios myself, with regard to fellow fans behaviour, and felt a little guilty by association, people should understand that the laws of this land do not absolve a member of a group from any responsibilty, if they when required by the police or other officials, fail to assist with information regarding the specific guilty parties and/or are obstructive whilst such information is being sought.
I must be honest, whenever I have travelled with similar groups, on coaches and trains, the testosterone is often flowing along with a very outwardly hostile manner and approach whenever police or stewards try to spoil ones fun.
I would, though not there, expect a very high likelyhood, that the so called innocents in this matter did not exactly do themselves or the shopkeeper any favours in the likely dissrespectfull and obstructive behaviour I would imagine was shown by our fans.
If you see a guy steal property and feel comfortable with it, do nothing to help prevent the crime or stop him getting away with it, then cause hundreds of hours of police time to be wasted trying to resolve the issue, culminating in them having to arrest all the 32 suspects, then don't brag about being completely innocent, purely down to you not being the actual thief, or one of the people charged, the two do not automatically follow.
Numerous individuals of the 32 involved may not have been charged, but this itself, if the truth were known, does not actually prove their innocence, and would be far more likely down to a C.P.S. decision to refuse to take a case forward without absolute proof, which understandably would be something quite difficult to achieve in such circumstances.
There is a freedom of information act where certain bodies and authorities can pass on accurate information/intelligence in an effort to make all the decent and law abiding citizens experience at such events pleasurable, safe and secure. I am not an expert in relation to this but doubt either the Club or the Police will have acted unlawfully. If they have, then don't bleat about it on here, but speak to a solicitor and take them to task.
