I never wanted to say this but.....

Have we not learnt our lesson. It seems obvious RM is only here til the summer to me, but if we go in for Jose and he says no where will that leave us.

Let Mancini get in his own players, and get rid of the dead wood that doesn't want to play and rather just pick up hefty amounts of money and then we'll move forward under Mancini.

We're moving in the right direction. He just needs to put his own touch on it.
He has not even been able to bring all his own backroom staff with him let alone bring in his own players. Does anybody believe that Brian Kidd was Mancini's choice as assistant ?

I hope that he does get the time, but I will be suprised if he can not even bring his own team in to help himachieve this.

And do you think Ancelotti selected Ray Wilkins to be his right hand man..?

They don't seem to be doing too badly with that joint appointment, eh?

All this dissent will dissipate when he comes.

The whole club will be euphoric.

I can't wait.

I hope you are right Dave.

Look at the lukewarm reception the Mancini appointement got in the media, even with all the money we have the media on the whole still dont take us seriously and I believe this is because they are as unsure as most of us about the manager. When Mancini got the job people asked me what I thought, my response was that I didnt know what to think because I didnt know enough about him, what concerns me is that I still dont know what to think.

Now compare this to what it will be like if Mourinho came in, not only will the vast majority of fans be as you say euphoric because they know we have appointed a winner the media will also know we have appointed a winner, all of a sudden we will be taken seriously.

If Mourinho is lined up then personally I can not wait, I have nothing against Mancini, in fact I very few feelings for him either way but Mourinho is The Special One!

Read three of yesterdays papers and i get the feeling he's deffo on the way in the summer, all of them had decent articles on him coming to us.

The time's and the observer both had interviews saying hed love to come back to the prem and loves building clubs up.

Regarding someones earlier post,Jose would jump at the chance to manage united he's said as much in the past but it looks like baconface is gonna stick it out for a few more years

Our owners want the absolute best. They want City to be a global brand and to challange for trophies.

There can be no doubt about it.

There's only one man fits the profile for them, I'm convinced of it.

The only question that needs to be answered is Will Mancini have us challenging for the title? If the answer is yes then we should stick with him no matter what the standard of football because at the end of whichever season it is we as fans will not be saying "I am not bothered that we won the title, the standard of football was rubbish"!

My concern is that the answer to the above question is no! I see him turning us into a carbon copy of Benitez's Liverpool and that worries me greatly. The history of the Prem tells you that its the teams that score plenty of goals that wins titles. Mancini has us playing for a 1-0 win every week at this moment in time, if he achieved it I would have no complaints but it just does not look like happening.

Now people can slate Mourinhos style of play (personally I think it is myth that his teams are boring) but they get the job done, if Mourinho had us playing for 1-0 wins every week he would make damn sure that we did it.

I am tired of ifs, buts and maybes, we had Hughes who might have got us top 4, we now have Mancini who might get us top 4 but Mourinho would get us top 4, no ifs, buts or maybes. If there was ever a club that needs the over confidence and brashness of Mr Mourinho it is Manchester City, for too long the mentality of the club has been all wrong, happy to be 2nd best and then have a good laugh at ourselves whilst muttering the words 'typical City'. Its about time we had a born winner in charge who doesnt settle for 2nd best, who in fact demands success and will dispense with the term 'typical City' once and for all.

It's difficult to argue with a single word of that. The appointment of Mourinho would be inspirational for the whole club and would be welcomed hugely by just about every City fan possible.

But... and there's always a but... why are people on here presuming he's coming? Why are they so convinced?

I would love him at City, but I've offered bets to previous posters, confirmed that Mourinho was coming, and they didn't take me up on it... so what is their impeccable source?

So, for me, he's not coming... and why would he?

If we make top 4 Mancini keeps his job... If we fail to make top 4, why woulkd Mancini take on a club like that?

I get the strong impression that Mourinho is playing games again and is keen to get his name on the radar of other clubs as he looks to move on in the summer.

Does anyone really think he'd choose us above Real Madrid, Liverpool or the Rags? And all three jobs might be up for grabs in the summer.

So instead of fantasising about the Special One at City... get behind the current manager and hope he achives the objectives. And if he doesn't then who do we replace him with if Mourinho is just taking the piss out of us?

Hiddink's gone... and that leaves? And I'm struggling to think of ANY other name i would be skipping about if we appointed them.

Sometimes it's better the devil you know...

Forza Mancini.
Mourinho at Manchester City is a match made in heaven!

I do not know whether he is coming or not, you may very well be correct about him playing games but I guess what I am saying is that IF he is available and IF he wants the job then he should be given it no matter what and when I say 'no matter what' I include even if Mancini gets us into the Champions League!

guide to lowering expectations

Step1
Work smart. In any task at work, lower your expectations while trying to do the job to the best of your ability. Strive for perfection in your work and that of your colleagues, but don't expect perfection every time. This will alleviate some of your stress at the work and allow you to focus on getting everything done without fear of disappointment.

Step 2
Make home a safe place. Don't beat yourself up for not getting the house completely spotless before company arrives. Lower your expectations of your living environment to meet the trials of life and your time constraints. Unless you have the money for a maid tell yourself that it is okay to leave some dishes in the sink before you go to bed. Pushing yourself will cause resentment and self-doubt. Allow yourself some down time with your loved ones. Allow yourself the space to be a good keeper of the home, and not the best.

Step 3
Love with compassion. It is easy to look at others and create expectations in your mind of how they should act on a daily basis in a relationship. Understand that everyone has bad days, failures and mood swings that make life a little harder. Don't expect your significant other to be at their best all the time. To err is human, and to forgive is truly loving that person enough to allow them to make mistakes. Lower your expectations of those you really care about and let them be human.

Step 4
Be kind to yourself. Striving for perfection in yourself is a good thing, but it doesn't have to be the only thing. Everyone fails, and not every job is going to be easy or easily completed. You will live a healthier life without all of the stress and demands that you place on yourself. Do your best; sometimes it will be perfect and sometimes it will just be enough.

And I will go further on that principle...even though the players may have got us into the top 4, I suggest we then go for the best players in the world to replace the ones we've got...

So... Messi for Bellamy... Buffon for Given... Ibrahimovic for Adebayor... Fabregas
for De Jong... Torres for Tevez... Subotic for Kompany...

Eeh, you're right... it's great fun all this fantasising!
