Still reckon we'll get about 74 points , not sure if that will win it, could well be enough, but it won't be more than a couple of points off if we don't.

Totally agree with this. Some comments on this thread paint the picture we are a lot further away from the top than we actually are. Yes it would of looked a lot rosier if we'd beaten Spurs, Leicester or L'pool but we win our game in hand, that's 7 points away - it's nothing. Leicester WILL drop points, starting with Watford on Saturday. So, we beat Villa comfortably and that's 7 points behind with a game in hand, win that and it's 4. I know it's all if, buts and maybes but there's a long way to go - we're still very much in this title race.

It is going to need a massive change in attitude and work ethic from the players and some proper thought out team selections by MP, but it has to start with a good result and performance against Villa.

Anymore shambolic performances like Wednesday and it's over, and the Rag lemmings will be looming behind us, especially with the luck they always seem to get.

Unfortunately, an amazing change of form and finish to the season isn't even enough. All three teams above us will have to screw it up.

Arsenal are more than capable of bottling it.

Spurs under Pochettino... a whole lot less likely
Foxes under Ranieri... I really don't see this. They have shown zero sign of crumbling and were pretty unlucky not to pull out a win against West Brom. Plus their run-in is really nice and they're not competing in anything other than the league.

In past years we have come from far behind to win the league... but with only 1 team ahead of us. This year, it's 3 ahead and tied with one (save goal differential).

As of now, I'd be elated if we just finish top 4.

Of course we could win it if we went on the sort of run these players are capable of but nothing I've seen this season makes me think the players actually have it in them any more to do that.
Can we win it ? Yes, will we ? .....not a fucking chance.

I think you have to approach this question in two parts. First, is it still possible for use to win the league and of course the answer to that question is yes and will always be yes until it is no longer possible in numerical terms. The second thing to consider is whether we have a realistic chance of winning it. Some people seem to believe that we still can and point to recent historical evidence which suggests that we have developed the knack of finishing a season very strongly and if this coincides with teams above us hitting a wall we able to prosper.
Others myself included are of the opinion that our league form since the opening games has been the poorest of any of the last 5 or so campaigns and makes it highly unlikely that we will be capable of posting a points total which would be good enough. Only a very brave man would stake everything on us finishing any higher than third at the moment to be honest. This of course won't stop people coming on here over the weekend talking nonsense should we as would be expected get a comfortable win against Villa on Saturday. But then hope springs eternal I guess!!!
