I still think we will win the league

I'll boldly predict now that we'll win the title.
Which season. If it is this I expect we would have to win 10 out of our last 11 unless other teams blow up. 30 points puts us on 77 which means Leicester only need 21 points (seven wins from 10) and Spurs 24 points (8 wins from 10). Not impossible by any means but given our form lately can anybody see us winning 10 out of 11. I hope we can and maybe I cling to the fact that if we can win our next three games against Villa, Norwich and the shite then KDB, Delph and Nasri may be fit and fresh.

Three difficult games left:
1) Home against united and they play liverpool away 2 days before this match
2) Away against chelsea and i hope kdb/nasri will be back by that time
3) Home game against arsenal, one week before season is over.
I assume that home match against arsenal will be title decided as i except both spurs and leicester to fail gain points during next weeks.
So with our full squad, with our favourite summer weather and time, with fans and atmosphere, I think we will be unstoppable.

Fight till the end lads :)

Loads of negativity on here this morning, no doubt dressed up as common sense (are some of you from Yorkshire?), but in reality a bunch of half-baked dogshit opinions. Have a look at the league table. Four points off the mighty Spurs (if we win the game in hand) who play Arsenal at the weekend, Arse in turmoil, and our upcoming fixtures against the kind of teams even the naysayers say we excell against. If Leicester keep it up they'll win it but it's a big if. We're shit at the moment but look at the league table, nothing in it. That's not unbridled optimism, just a fact.

Totally agree with this. Some comments on this thread paint the picture we are a lot further away from the top than we actually are. Yes it would of looked a lot rosier if we'd beaten Spurs, Leicester or L'pool but we win our game in hand, that's 7 points away - it's nothing. Leicester WILL drop points, starting with Watford on Saturday. So, we beat Villa comfortably and that's 7 points behind with a game in hand, win that and it's 4. I know it's all if, buts and maybes but there's a long way to go - we're still very much in this title race.

It's time for the players to focus on the job in hand. They have eleven league games left to put things right. No more distractions with video's of players picking their 5 favourite something or other or doing somthing embarrassing with Chappy.
Just focus & concentrate on the job.

It's hardly dressed up as common sense, when if you're quoting facts, we're currently enduring our worst run of results since 2008.
We might only be 10 points behind Leicester, but then again, it was only 4 points, not so long ago.
Yes, we should win tomorrow, and yes, the other results might go our way. However, our performance at Liverpool was a more realistic indicator of how we'll play against United, Chelsea, and Arsenal. That won't leave much margin for error in the other games, especially when we'll have a huge CL game, to distract us.

If Arsenal are in turmoil, then where does that leave us? We are 15th in the form table across the last 6 games, and have lost 3 on the bounce. It cannot be underestimated how poor it is, for a club of our ambition, and talent, to lose 3 PL games (2 at home) on the trot.
Now I accept this season is not an ordinary one in how it is panning out, but I can't imagine many eventual title winners have lost 3 on the bounce, or even lost 8 in total (assuming we don't lose anymore this season).

The thing is we can still in it, of course, but there is nothing this season in the league to suggest we will. Apart from a run at the end of last season and the start of this, we have been below average for about a season and a half now.
I think too many people are pointing towards recent history, and looking at how we pulled together a run then. Yeah, we have done, and it would be amazing to do it again, but we just aren't looking like we can. And even in those seasons we didn't put in as dire performances as we have done this season on at least 4 occasions.

Given our form against the top 8 teams this season, home and away, it's hugely optimistic to think we will get that much from those games....
Unfortunately they are the facts of our season, and our form at the moment.
You would assume we would raise our game for the derby. But playing a resurgent Chelsea, at Stamford Bridge...? And Arsenal, you just never know - they completely outplayed us last season, and if they follow a blueprint set by other clubs on how to beat us, then you would have to back them. Let's just hope we have put some kind of run together by then.

Or, people could stop being so myopic in looking at the game on Wednesday and go back a further three days when we were very impressive.

I'm firmly in the "We will win it" camp

To end of April, Spurs have some shockers coupled with two games against Dortmund. Stick or twist decision for Pochettino

Leicester away to Watford who are a strong team at home on Saturday and Spurs play Arsenal.

We could be seven off the top with a game in hand by 4:50 Saturday.

Why do people focus so much on the negatives and ignore the positives?

Hardly myopic, especially as Wembley and Kiev were both in different competitions.
I agree with you, that Leicester, Spurs, and Arsenal will all drop points.
Where I disagree is your belief that we'll suddenly go on a run of victories, when in reality the Anfield shambles was more than a one-off defeat that we could just put down to fatigue or bad luck.

Yep. In my heart I'll believe we can still win it, and I'll go into every game believing that.

But realistically, as so many of us have said, there is just nothing to suggest we will do what is required.

And for people to suggest we are looking at Anfield in isolation is ridiculous!! We have been comfortably, comfortably beaten far too many times this season!
