I Was There

be interesting to see which City fans were there at certain moments of our history more or less most people attended FA Cup Final & Qpr games would be interesting though to find out who was at Huddersfield 10-1, Mansfield Autowindscreens, Millwall A (when we were officially banned), Stoke A 98, Stoke A boxing day 88 (fancy dress)

Was at the 10-1
Not Mansfield
Not Millwall but was at Luton when we were banned. Let off a blue balloon when the players ran out as discussed the week before in KOTK.
Was at Stoke away (both of them)
Was also at York (honest) and Lincoln and Wycombe away the same season which were both midweek and we lost them both.

What about Jimmy Greaves debut for West Ham against us in 1970...
I remember is pissed down all day and he ran riot!
I think on one goal Corrigan booted the ball out, then turned round to walk back and Greaves booted back into the net for a goal! I think we got beat either 1-5 or -1-6.

i was at that one too. greaves kept up his record of scoring on all of his debuts. city lost 5-1 but the rot set in with west ham's first goal being blatantly offside. scored by their speedy winger harry redknapp. ronnie boyce wellied corrigan's clearance back into the goal. the city fans behind the goal were screaming at corrigan, trying to get him to turn round, but he just looked gormlessley at them and then did a double take as he saw the ball skidding past him into the net.

I was there at every home match league and cup the last 25 years or so, and many single home matches for a few yaers befoer that, and some local aways. Plus Wembley 99, and the 3 Wembleys last year.

But the big news surely must be i was at the auto windscreens home match - that shows loyalty eh?!?!?!?!? ;)
(even though we all wanted to lose ahem!)

I bet you didn't pay to go in hospitality that night like we did!!!

Far to recent.
I was at 'the Ballet On Ice' game. Anyone else?

No. But my dad was.

Meanwhile, while my Dad was at the game, my mum - 2 weeks overdue carrying me - decided to shovel all the snow from the path outside our front door.

20 hours later, I came into the world. Sunday's child and all that.

Years later somebody gave me (for my 40th in fact) a copy of the paper from the day I was born. It is nice having the match report from that game in the paper printed the day I was born.

Does it annoy anyone else that the guy in the middle of the pitch on his knees had "I've been there 13.05.12." on his shirt?

Surely it should be "I was there...".

Even that wouldn't have been technically correct as the moment was happening and thus the present tense should've been used, but it would have made it much more palatable.

It does now. Did you have to point this out, will do my head in now every time I watch it (down to twice a day now).

Did Hudders 10 -1 - nearly didnt go as working in Wales &we were shit.
Did Mansfield - sat in Kippax lower wondering why we dont sign Christie.
Stoke a 98 - did this one, dodging bricks etc over the bridge.

Ps Did York - got a ticket from Dave Jones as a scout,in the York side stand,I must be the only one who has proof of being there as you can see me on the TV footage during Citys build up to the goal!

None of the others, was in Oz for the 88 game or would have been there.
