Well Bert thinks it is important, good enough for me. Win it, then play in super cup against CL winners, builds that worldwide recognition of who our club is. Maybe not important in terms of Kudos, as the CL is but as has been said it is good preparation and if this is the trophy that knocks a certain banner on the head you ain't going to get me complaining, in fact I will be pissed out of my head celebrating.

It disappoints me to do this but I have to disagree.
A good run out for the stiffs, keep em fit an all that (I reckon thats the only reason Shay seems to have settled down).

It's also very positive revenue for the club. Not a trivial issue. We're already paying the players' salaries, so the revenue from going to the final would be significant.
