With all due respect, you're in Perth. You're not going to experience the atmosphere of these European nights so I wouldn't expect you to understand the importance of this competition to a lot of our fans.

The only down side to playing in Europa is that you have to play on the Sunday following the match.
If united and arsenal had both played on the saturday, it would put more pressure on our game.

I cant say I'm that bothered about the cups in themselves, but a couple of good runs would help build momentum, create a general feelgood factor, and could help our league form. Similarly the disappointment of getting knocked out of the cups might have a bad effect on our league form.

We're in the fortunate position where we can treat the cups with respect but not have to play our best players every round.
