you could imagine that same goal now involving Yaya, Silva and Mario.

It was definitely scored at the Scoreboard End. We were in the Scoreboard Paddock and I was convinced I wasn't going to get out alive.

Yes.

It was the scoreboard end.

I stand corrected. Getting old.......;-)

I was there. Definately the scoreboard end where Denis scored probably the most memorable goal of his career! Fortunately I was in the seats in the main stand very close to the Stretford end. It was mayhem after the game and for any City fan in the scoreboard end it must have been surreal. Both exhilerating for relegating United and frightening for the potential violence to come. For me I walked back into town no problem apart from being propositioned by a prostitute in Moss side!

Most definately was a nervy end when the shite from the Stretford End came charging. In there myself, as I was against em when Micky Doyle and Franny toar them to pieces.
Funnily enough it was great to see the ITV clip of the game on here a couple of weeks ago, along with the Police Horses knocking a few of the fuckers over.
Ah,happy days.

-- Sun Dec 18, 2011 1:34 am --

No, no, no! I was a very young 14yr old and she was a very, very large woman. I was clever enough to know that she would have killed me!

Correct - my abiding memory of that day was reds and blues twatting the shit out of each other as there was no segregation in the Scoreboard End in those days. Managed to sneak out after the second pitch invasion and jumped on a 71 bus with not a soul on it - straight home in no time!

I was there with my dad
We left as the goal was going in

Didn't realise there was any trouble until we got home and put the radio on and the game still hadn't finished, and we lived in Openshaw!

Yeah, I was there with my younger brother in the Scoreboard End. He got his nose broken after the goal was scored in all the scrapping and had to go to Salford Royal Hospital. I'm sure he thought it was worth it LOL
